disappointing day at track, then testorosa kill!?
I took my car to cordova yesterday. I could not run my slicks (the shop who did the work said they had ground down the A arms the rest of the way...they hadn't), so relied on my nittos.
Disappointing to say the least...
car dyno'd 475/466
2.1 60' 11.8 @ 123.8 was best et, best 60 was 1.80, missed 4th however.
I cannot shift even close to as fast in my zo6 as my t/a. Any hints? Can the drill mod be done on a vette? I didn't think it could, but this is horrible, something has to change! There is probably 3 mph left on table through granny shifts.
So today I am feeling all down on my luck, so I decide to take my car out and log some data. I am in the country near my hometown of 16k people, and as I am waiting to turn left, a freakin red testorosa drives by...i was so long story short, after some prodding we rip it on the interstate some. I was amazed, I smoked him all 3 times, pretty handily.
How fast were the fastest testorosa's?

The "fastest" Testarossa would have been the 512M, which they only made 75 of them in 1995. They were mid-12 second cars. Then is the 512TR, made from '92-'94: mid-upper 12's/low 13's if you suck. Lastly is the Testarossa: '85-'91. They ran high 13's. It's not UNcommon for an LT1 FBody with a few boltons to beat one in the 1/4 mile. They are, however, faster on the highway because that's where they open up and top out at 180. But an LS1 will run with one up until 150-ish, and a ZO6 would slap one around until it hit its top speed of 170, but the Testarossa would take a bit longer to get to 170, then proceed to 180.
Also, I go to Cordova whenever I get a chance. I live in Davenport, IA. I think it's freakin' badass that you saw and ran a Testarossa THIS close to where I live. We've got a few Ferraris (F355's, 360's, 308's, etc), Vipers, etc in our town, but something about the Testarossa that just wets my appetite more than other Ferraris.

Which one looks most like the "Testarossa" you raced?

Launching!
Sweet kill and dude with 475+ hp you would kill most anything if it came to you on the highway where traction is nill. Dude you have a 6sp with 475hp and you woundered about top end? if my 02 ws6 could burry the speedo which is 155ish with a dynoed 330hp and 3.73s and since a ferrari does 180 you don't think you could have 25mph with over 120hp. even if you have 410s you would still top him out if you had room and ***** but still nice kill since those exotics hardly race anybody especially a lowley 30k f-body.
