Default 93 Trans am (me) vs a 98 Dodge Viper

Hey guys...

I was taking my buddy for a ride in my car today around 4, anyways I get on the Highway (highway 1) and I notice a Dodge Viper behind me and I see his front end pick up so I let him fly by....after we get through the traffic and its open we get next to each other and hit it....that was from about 65 mph we took off I hung with him for about 2 seconds then CU he was off...I shut down about 100 he shut down about 145 LOL anyways...then we went from the stop light at about a 35 roll again same result. Then we took off from the next signal from a dig this was alittle bit better result I took him by about a car at start...then by 50-55 mph he was gone...It sounded like his car has turbo but wasn't sure... by the time we were in the middle of slo and noticed I was running low on gas I gave him a wave and was headed back home...

Nice death.

What did you mean by it sounded like it was turbo? You hear a BOV or something?

The only reason I ask is because the vipers tend to have a slightly exotic sound to them ... not sure if someone could mistake it for a turbo, but they don't really sound like anything else on the road, that is for sure.

Actually, IMO, Vipers sound like ****. Yeah, they look awesome and perform awesome, but their sound is absolutely horrible. I can honestly say it almost sounds like a ricemobile with that hollow, tinny sound. *shudders* Of course that's the '92-'02's I'm talking about. The SRT-10 Vipers sound a bit more refined, but even they don't sound that great.

I always get slammed for saying that about Vipers. Glad there are others out there who feel like I do.

Vipers have a resonator on them, most owners ditch them a.s.a.p. because they make the car sound like ***. After they are off they sound much meaner, deeper tone.

I saw a race between a porsche 911 turbo and a viper (you've probably seen it also, its the viper with the black wheels) and I thought the sound was the opposed 6 cylinder porsche until I watched it a few times and realized it was the viper I don't like vipers any more lol, it sounded like a civic.

Good death.
