I just got my *** kicked bad by a white Z06. I knew I was going to loose but it wasn't even close. It was a 2002 with intake and long-tubes. As soon as we hit the gas, he pulled on me and kept going. At the end of two gears he was 2-3 cars ahead of me. How much power do you guys think he had at the wheels?

with intake and full exaust, including long tubes, he was probably pushing 400+ rwhp. You didn't hava a chance in hell, I give you credit for trying, I would have done the same thing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

If it was a white Z06, then it was a 2001. They did not offer white in 2002+ <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I think by the example that you are giving. I just assumed it was an '02. If it would have been a stock '01, it would have been a closer race. It's always fun to race faster cars to see what they can do. I'll start saving for those heads and cam so I can kick his *** next time!

I agree with sn95, with more mods it could've been a closer race. Remember, the 01' have 385hp(more if he has LT & intake) equaled in tq as well and lighter than the f-body.

I almost got my chance to lose to a Zo6 yesterday but I didn't see him till I was getting off the exit. I wouldn't mind losing to one I just like to see a fast car go.

I give you alot of credit for just racing him especially when you knew you would lose.Most people don't race unless they know they can win.

My father has an 02 Z0-6 and I have a 01 WS-6 (M6). I have raced him a few times and when you first leave the line you know your going to get beat but not that bad, but then the faster you go the harder he pulls away. I have some basic bolt-ons and run 13.0 on my stock F1's.

I "ATTEMPTED" to race a Silver 02 Z06 (405HP)
an older gentleman & his wife were @ a red light as i pulled up the light turned green & we were off to the races!
He knew i was going to attempt to get the jump on him.
He nailed it"going through the gears" & left me in the corner!
That was the ONLY way he would kick my ***!
The guy had handicap plates on the car!

man,sounds like some of you need to add some go fast parts. my 01 ws.6 /ported heads,hammer cam,headers,gears,ect,ect.killed two 02 zo6 vets.and i wont tell ya how bad i kill the 01's it's a great feeling to stomp the arrogant zo6.i run mid 11's now and next year i'm adding a 385ci block and a t.n.t 150 wet kit,just for more fun.

I got lucky one day. My neighbor a few houses down my block has a 02' Z06(405hp). After talking with him for awhile and complementing him on his car he gave me a ride in it. That car is really fast <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> , damn thing pulled in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears, hard!, I couldn't believe it. I keep my maturity level at a all time cool. Didn't want him to think I was jocking his car too much. After the ride he asked me to race him one day when the weather gets better. I said "sure" and told him I'll need more than a hand full of bolt-ons to beat him. Maybe when I'm in my 50's I'll be that nice!

Another biggie... his M12 Trans gearing makes his final drive ratio about the same as 3.90's. The gearing is the Z's major advantage.

Don't let the numbers mislead you. Like mellow said, the M12 ratio is similiar to about 3.90(some people argue that slone is equal to about 50rwhp). Then you have the weight issue. I still have no idea how much an F-body weighs but the ZO6 comes in right at 3100lbs. And then the tires. 295/35/18s out back. Couple that with the low weight and the gearing and that puppy gets off the line in a hurry. How do you know he had headers and intake?

I wasted a silver Z06 last year, we started playing aroung on a 4 lane with sweeping lefts and rights and Im sure he couldve pushed it and came around me if he really wanted but I was pushing the TA too and with other cars on the road he wouldve really had to push his vette to do so.

Then we make it to a section of the freeway in which two freeways merge into one, its probably the best straightaway over here in hawaii. And at 0600 in the morning on a Sat. the freeway was pretty empty. So I rolled up the windows and dropped the pop up head lights, as I knew he was gonna try and show off and scream by me.

Sure enough thats what he did, so around 70mph I dropped it into 3rd. Caught a little bit of axle tramp but once it hooked I started reeling him in. Actually up until around 110 the vette continued to pull hard. At that point I was at his door. Shifted into 5th and pulled away, at the top of 5th I was about 6 car lengths ahead.

He didnt shut down either, so I slowed down and he pulled up aside. He gave me thumbs up and the best part was he had his girlfriend with him! Yeah and she said, "your car is so fast"! Oh man it was great.

Had to be one of my greatest races next to a race with at certain single turbo supra over here that since then is putting out 630rhwp as of now. Back then when we raced he said he was on bar 1 (14.5 psi) as the octane would allow.
