Black99, elaborate on what you mean by if he can drive. The statement is really vague

As long as you don't miss a gear you should tear him apart.

You need to go to MTI and get a lid. They are on sale for $79.

He ran a 14.0. You should run a low 13. If you don't roast your tires for too long, you'll tear him apart.

drop it at 2500 and ride it out tell u get traction. Don't give it the gas and smoke the tires. Id go practice at least once if u never done it before. It seems ur bro can drive..14 flat is a pretty good time for a stock GT.

The T/A should easily win. Then again, if you have to ask.... Well, drive carefully.

BTW, I drove a friends 99 GT when it still had the temp tag and was 100% stock. My time? 13.95@97mph on the only pass I ever made in a 99GT. What I'm getting at is, 14.0 is nothing more than an average time in my book.

That race isnt even a contest. I had 3 people packed in the back of my ws6 and two in the front including me and I pulled up to him at a stop light. He was alone in an 01 black GT and he seemed pretty cool. Said he wish he had one and told me the car looked good. I told him the same and we slowly rolled off the line. We both matted it at the same time and I blew him away. Next stop light, he asked what I had done, I said stock and his jaw dropped. He just had a K+N filter and borla exhaust. Stock for stock the two really arn't even close. As long as you can drive decently you will take him for sure.

ive heard some funny stuff before about racing and most of the time it involves mustangs. this is a perfect example of what im talking about.

dont sweat this race you will easily blow his doors completly off stock for stock. given you dont completly lose it off the line. i raced a newer gt in my ws6 when it was stock except for lid, the mustang had some exhuast modification.

off the line i spun fairly hard but so did he grabed second and put about two cars on him and pulled hard and steady from there on out. only took it to about 80 cause i was in a 45 but it got ugly quick, real ugly. im not saying there arnt fast stangs out there there just arnt fast stock stangs out ther <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> (with the exception of the oh so feared 03 cobra)

Racing someone while riding down a street isn't the same as the track. The LS1 powered F-body should (basically) always outrun an SN95 Mustang GT while both are stock. Driver error can change things.

While the F-body should handily win this race, we shouldn't over-hype the scenerio with street race happenings encountered by those of us, who've raced before. I mean, he apparently hasn't. I wouldn't want to make it sound like he could "goof off" and still cruise past the GT. There's only about .5 seconds here in reality. We could stretch it out to 2 full seconds but, that's not the margin he can expect, knowing the GT runs 14.0's already. His T/A might run even worse, since he's not experienced. It probably won't. On the other hand, it will likely run 13.50's or so at the track, with him driving. Too many people are basically telling him the win is already his. But .5 can cost a win on launch (R/T) alone.

Hey Pewter,
Ya wanna prove he's slow?? Race him !!! You won't have to prove anything, your car will prove it for ya !!! Then you can listen to all the typical "Mustang Excuses" I gotta admit some are pretty good ones :-)
