Mach Nones weren't a good race from any speed in my mystic z. I'd put like 6 cars on them from 40 to 110, or a dig to 90-100. They were a much better race for the LT1's.

Stopsign would have gotten walked too.

All the bs aside I always thought it was funny people thought the Mach 1 could run with any 98-02 ls1 car...

Because it could... Stock for stock, the Mach was usually .2 and 2mph slower than the LS cars. One mod for the Mach and it could hold it's own. Once the mods got more extreme, the LS crushed it.

Agree. Comparing same trans to same trans. In my experience when I didn't forget to turn off the damn traction control in the Mach...the LS top end would get me. Usually end of third gear. Mach needed gear then needed tires. I loved the gauge cluster. Mach in my experience would beat a 99 fixed Cobra and a 01 Cobra too.

Except it didn’t in the real world. Actually wasn’t even close. If it were a Mach 1 would be a drivers race with a coyote

As I have always stated, won some and lost some to LS1s back in the day and I have owned both cars (01 Z28 and 04 MACH). Z28 pulled hard down low but the MACH1 pulls harder mid range.
Good close race between the two.

No bias here either because I was a GM guy before I bought a Ford. Just giving my opinion

The slowest coyote's were trapping 109, the fastest were trapping 113. The fastest mach was 106.7mph, it would be close, but not that close.

Real world. Dead even with similar mods.

Mach has more mods, but the CAI and the shorty headers really don't do anything.

Gear, tune, catback mach vs lid, full exhaust LS1.

Wonder how they would do against each other in reverse though?

I hear ya, though. No doubt anything LS is stout. My 01 Z28 is still one of the best cars that I have owned. No problem admitting that.

I raced multiple back in my home town in my 99 z28. Auto vs Auto both stock. I pulled 5 cars on both of them... The LS just has to much top end for them...

When i see stories like this i always think about how big of a fuss the furdcrew made over me pulling 8 cars on a damn 3v GT (slower car) in my lid/catback z28. Just proves how stupid they are.

I've owned both, and no, not happening. Heck, a lid/catback LS1 is going to have a hard time putting 8 cars on a bone stock 2V.

Massively disagree with a Ls1 f- body not being able to put 8 lengths on a 2v. 2v really are painfully slow.

A Ls1 will run at least a full second faster if not more and trap 10+ mph faster.

You get a very small percentage of LS1 Fbodies that crack 12's and trap 108 with expert drivers and perfect conditions, and everyone thinks they all did it. The vast majority of the LS cars ran 13.5@106, with some even hitting 13.8@102. Then you have your 2V GT's sitting right around 14.1@99, which is right with the LT1 Fbody cars.

I agree with your Ls1 take but I have the 2v more in the 14.4 - 14.6 @ 94 - 96 mph range.
