Default Silver ZO6 Bit The Dust!!!

Well first off I gotta say that these things are Freakin FAST! DAMN this has gotta be one of my closest funnest race. Im a senior in High School and everyone was telling me there was a Corvette in the parking lot, but I didnt care i thought it belonged to a chick. Leaving school a guys driving it waiting for me in the parking lot. So we go from a 15 mph roll(Spun badly) and on the 3rd honk we floor it both and im inching on him and start to pull more, by 120 mph i had a car and a half. Run em 3 more times and same results. I have a Nitrous Works kit but I dont spray on the street only at the track. On motor that was the closest race i been in. For sure the Vette had an exhaust but he wouldnt tell me what else he had.

My Mods: Vig 3200, Moser 12 Bolt, Lid/Filter, HPP3, 160 Stat, MSD Wires/NGK's, Mac Headers w/orp, 3" Cutout, Flows, Hughes Performance Pan, Stock Tires(ET Streets for track), Performance Transmission,- For nitrous i have purge, b.w. etc. My consistent and best time has been a 12.49 with a 1.72 60 ft.

BTW: What do u think it will dyno??

Nice kill. Is that best of 12.49 spraying or not spraying? I am not up on F-bodies just trying to learn a bit from hanging around here. My background is in Vettes. I would say your set up would yield 330-340 rwhp....just a WAG though. It would take more than that to beat a ZO6, especially from a roll with an A4. The street is quite an equalizer.

As far as my dyno guess goes, just a guess. Like I said, don't know fbods and how they respond to mods. Your set up seems solid as hell and you are getting the most out of your car. So you get .9 out of 100 shot? That is damn impressive. Is that about the norm for Fbodies? Again, nice kill.

You never know when you might run into a modded LS1 either! Modded ZO6 is quick, but so is a LS1. We are out there

Good kill. 12.5 is fast enough to beat most Z06 drivers. I guess 320-330rwhp unless you trap over 110. The 12.5 is becuase the 60' you run. I bet you trap around 110 or less. You have a sweet setup, but you beat the driver not the car. The mods you have are for quickness not top end.

Well CSCOLLIS:

I think I beat the car not the driver. The driver happens to know how to drive. BTW: Z06's around here bone stock if their lucky will get u a 12.8 to 13.2 at my track(elevation, track prep sux, Texas heat, etc.). Their was a 2002 Z06 with headers, H Pipe, and other bolt ons with slicks that could only crack a 13.2, Point is my 12.4 is DAMN GOOD at my track. If i were at HRP then that would be a different story I know my times would be going way down Oh BTW: My car actually went a 14.2 Stock so u should know how sucky my track is.

Sorry bud but there's no way, I repeat no way you beat the car from a roll with your A4 that only runs 12.4@110ish. You may have beat the driver but you wouldn't stand a chance with your mods if they were really racing. The Z06 is 3100lbs and doesn't hit 1:1 ratio until about 105. You on the other hand are at 1:1 gear ratio in the 70's.

Not to be an ***, but I bet I can beat you from roll even with your 100 shot, and I only have a few bolt-ons.

I know Z06's are fast, but damn a bolt-on F-Body can beat a Z06 and I just proved it yesterday. I kill is a kill. Ive beaten MANY Z06's at the TRACK but this is the first kill on the street.

Not to be an *** but if u were to bring YOUR Z06 I would like to see u hit that 12.1 in ur sig at my track. Like I said, MY track SUX and Im still hitting the 12.4 while stock ones are hitting 12.9's-13.0's. The fastest one i seen hit is a 12.2 and i dont know what he had.

Also, I can hit 11.6's all day long with a 100 shot, so I doubt youll take me from a Roll..

And yes he was racing full throttle, we raced 4 times.

BTW: what were u hitting without ur mods? 12.5-12.4??? Im sure ur mods helped u alot.

I dont see why he shouldve handed me my *** with just an exhaust, I beat him by a car and a half, Im assuming he shouldve been at the 12.5-12.60 range which sounds just about right to me.

Yes there are people that are going to say theyve gone 11's stock I know of a guy (J-Rod) that posts hitting 11's stock, BUT your forgetting about track prep, elevation, weather etc.

Not all vehicles come with nuts out of the factory, and Im sure we wouldve cracked my *** with more mods on motor, but im just posting a kill against a basically stock Z06.

Dont want this to get out of hand, but Im sure there are alot of Bolt-On cars on this site that have spanked Z06's. There not the fastest cars in the world.

Dude, I had a 2001 WS6 A4 that ran 11.91@112.8 with the same TC you have. While my WS6 rocked at the track, it was no match for any Z06 from a roll. I ran 12.42 in my WS6 before I installed a cam and my mph was only 108.8 with a 1.73 60'. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt at 110mph traps, which is still 5-8 mph too slow to beat the Z06 from a roll. Bone stock Z06's trap between 115-118mph in the 1/4 which is way beyond what your bolt-on A4 is capable of.

The times in my sig are on street tires, spinning through 1st, 2nd, and part way through third. I'm sure I can match your 11.6 or better with some sticky tires.

I'm sorry but if you're saying you can beat Z06's from a roll with a bolt-on A4. I would have to call BS 1/4 mile time mean nothing from a roll because your 60' time is where your time is coming from. MPH rules from a roll!!

Like I said, I beatAZ06, Im not bragging or claiming I can beat ALL Z06's. Im just posting a kill dude, you cant belive it then dont. And yes I was trapping 114 without my 3:73's, Ported TB, or Free Mods, my E.T. times are just not that good as I said because we probably have one of the worst tracks and nor are the Z06's. On spray Im trapping 122 mph by the way. Theres a few people on this site that are from around this area that know me and know Z06's WILL NOT run faster than a 12.70 Stock

I'd love to race (or do I mean smack) a Z06 but all the Doctors who own the ones around here are scared to race

It was a good kill. With my mods my A4 beats or is even a z06s (01), vipers, non-brake boosting BPU + Supras to 100. 3rd gear falls on its face. I am starting to believe this was a very clean kill. What tranny did you put in? if it is the same tranny ratios that my vet has you got lucky to hold him off to 120. Have you ever ridden in a Z06 in third and forth gears. Those are the monster gears for the Z.

Well good kill, it was prob a 01 Z06, then this is entirely and easy to believe.

Thanks Mike, Ill try and get ahold of the guy and ask him what year it was, I know he also has a Torch Red 2002 Z06 also, but that one hit a 12.3 last time I saw with some mods and Slicks.

Ok, you run a 12.49 with a 1.72 60' and your MPH is 114? That would be a high 11-12.0 on any track. A 1.72 60' and 108-109mph would net you that time.

I'm not saying you can't beat a Z06 at the track with your ET's and Vig. It happens all the time. I'm just saying if you beat one from a roll, you beat the driver and not the car.

Mike Hoffpauir, Look me up if your ever in Cali. I would be willing to do a 40-130mph run with you. It could be close. Why 40? Cause I need to get past that TC and monster 60'
