Default Broke a 3000GT

Last April I had just had me LM installed so I was enloying the sound, minding my own business. I pass this 3000GT (non-turbo), all of a sudden he comes flying past me. I was gonna let it go, but he had to push it. We roll up to a red light with a small incline, crown in the intersection, and then a downhill (trust me this is important). We're at the light and he is rocking his car on the incline. We get the green and his fronts haze. At this point I am trying to be easy on the clutch. No sooner do I get the clutch all the way out and hammer it, I hear this loud pop, I look in the mirror and see a puff of bluish smoke belch from under each side's rocker panel. I never even finished first gear before he hid in the line of cars behind me. I wonder what his girlfriend thought of his blue with white stripes dream machine. My brother was following, he thought it was funny. Weird thing was an older gentleman in an Acura CL did the same smoke routine a week or so later. Was it the best challenge? No. Was it fun and funny as hell? Oh Yeah. I enjoyed it. Any idea what he broke?

"bluish" smoke might indicate a burning of oil? maybee he blew a head gasket?

I'm not too educated on the internal aspect of engines (yet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) but wouldn't a blown headgasket give off white smoke since it would be burning coolant?

My buddy has got a 98 3000gt SL (non-turbo). I thought it was real wheel drive, but it is front. Kinda gay.
