That car weighs much more than 2000lbs. More like 25-2800lbs. Those cars weigh stock, over 3200lbs. So your telling me with lexan and no interior, you take off 1300lbs. I highly doubt it.

Don't run him then if your going to whine like a little o'll biaatch. Stop making excuses.

Ohhh,... so you're saying the video is not a factual representation of that night???? And that it's edited for effect???

Nice car by the way but you guys need to get on track and film it in the light so we can all enjoy the race with out the Ninja cam in stealth fighter mode. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> No need for anyone to **** and moan when the numbers are printed on two sheets of paper. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I do have one question though. Do you have the scale print out on the weight. A fully loaded GTS is only about 3240. I'm sure there probably a wee bit more than you a 300 net drop off the whole interior, wheels and such over the cost of the cage. Unless that laptop PC really does weigh a 100lbs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> If not, you guys have some work you should be doing. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The stock curb weight on a 1990-1994 AWD Eagle Talon is 2549lbs. Look for yourself ***.

talon specs

So you are telling ME that with a gutted interior for race with only 1 passenger seat, lexan windows, no spare tire etc. etc. you weigh MORE than a stock one???? give me a break. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

If your car really weighs that much you've done something very wrong. Sorry if I don't believe you at all. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

but when the (lbs) of turbo boooost on the eclipse is greater than the lbs of the actual car <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> ...you might have an argument

That Eclipse was a full out drag car. Lets see that Eclipse(which looks like ***) race a fully dragged out F-bod. Is that Eclipse a street driver? Big deal , a dragged out Eclipse beat a completely loaded street driven F-bod. That Eclipse is fast but I wouldnt be caught dead driving that fast lump of ****.

hrmm.... I have never seen a stock DSM weigh 2500 stock. Its not like its a Honda Civic. with the AWD system and turbo they will weigh over 3100.

Here is a better example. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclBuyersGuide.htm

Its a pretty well known fact through out the DSM community that the GSX's are the heaviest of the turbo DSMs. So the curbweight of 3000 from BMFDSM was saying is not so far off.

Can we get some actual specs on the cars from each owner themselves? I've heard the T/A was a 422, I've heard it wasn't, are both cars gutted, etc.?
As for the video, it does look as if the Eclipse was ahead the whole time. Also looks as if the two cars are close enough to come down to a drivers race and that they both had traction issues.

So that would mean he was only able to knock off 145lbs. with no interior/seats, plastic windows etc.? Still, even with your example I find it hard to believe.

If we're getting into the LS1 > all match, why talk about modded cars? A stock LS1 can miss a gear and rape a stock DSM, no matter the year or model. Next!

My friend had a 92 Talon AWD and he weighed the car with nothing taken out and it weighed around 3320 or so with him out of it. From what I have seen with some of the 9 second or faster DSM guys they will weigh in at around 2700-2800 race weight no driver. I dunno if BMFDSM is quoting the 3000 with or with out the driver or not so I am saying that with driver, 3000 lbs is not out of the question.

What the hell are you talking about. Your completely off of the subject. A 911 can miss a gear and pull an ls1. So whats your point? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

Nobody is impling that this is a race between import and domestic. This is a video to show what really happened the night of the race.

The so called "LS1 Crowd" swears up and down they were cheated out of the race. The video disproves this.

The point I was trying to make is that, you spend 20+ thousand dollars on a so called stroker kit plus gas and still get walked by a lower displacement motor. Who cares if it were a turbo car or not. Don't race if your going to whine about the ****.

Im curious, did you elcipse guys ever show up to the track when the LS1 folks called you out on Thurs? It was near the end of the locked thread on the subject. Im wondering if you guys showed to race, or you ducked?

I just had a few questions on the eclipse. What all has been done to it, do you have any dyno times and/or ¼ mile times? Did the guy driving the T/A have a full pit crew as well? I’m asking because it looked as if the eclipse had a full pit crew and race team, I really didn’t see anything on the T/A guy. But this could have just been due to the camera angles and person with the camera. I know I would be very leery to race anyone that seems to have a full pit crew and sponsored, along with the car looking to be a full out drag car. No matter what make or module car it was.

It would be great to see two cars like that run and run two cars like that, just to see how I stand in the mix of things and how far I still need to go.

What the Hell is ya'lls problem? Who gives a **** if it's a gutted drag car? He KNEW what it was before he raced it. It's not like it was a big surprise. If he had a problem racing that car the way it sat, then he shouldn't have raced it, bottom line! I don't care if the LS1 weighed 5000 pounds and the DSM weighed 500! They set up the race for $1000 and he lost. Stop making excuses and pay up!
