NSX vs Trans Am
I was coming home tonite and saw a car that looked pretty agressive just from the look of the lights so I got over in the left lane to let him come beside me to check out what it was and right when I got over in the left lane he comes by me doing round 80 and Im rollin at 60 or 65. So as soon I see him come by I hit it. He pulled me till like 110 and then I stopped him pullin. I shut it down at like 140. He was prolly 4 maybe 5 cars ahead of me. I know the guys dad who owns the NSX....he said it has some kind of $3000 exhaust system. My mods are slp lid, K&N, hooker cat back, and ascd ram air hood, and a4 with 3.23's. 1st off how long should it have taken me to even out his huge jump, how could I do from a punch at about 60mph, and from a dig.

Re: NSX vs Trans Am
yeah, too bad he paid about 80k for that 180 and 1/4 mile performance is about even w/ your 4th gen...
Should've gotten a Viper, imo w/ that kinda coin. @ least then he would've been able to obliterate you outright <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

I stopped his pulling by 110 or 115 but with the jump he had like you sai dI would never had caught him. What should it run with exhaust and intake? WHat chance would I have?

If he had you by 5 cars at 140, there isn't much left for you. Had it been a more even start, you should have spanked him. Thise things aren't that quick....at least not LS1 quick.

Don't they run something like mid to low 13's stock? I do know that a bolt on LS1 would kill one from, say, a 40 punch. You would probably be far enough ahead by 110 that you could shut it down and call it a kill, ya know. No need to go 180.

Re: NSX vs Trans Am
Yeah i thought these cars were pretty quick because he was pulling preety fast. I tihnk the fact that I stopped him pulling and made up the 20mph diff by 110 shows me I could take him fom a 60 to 120 shot. But like you said no need to go 180. So that car should be good for low to mid 13's?

if you were doing 60-65 in an a4 with 3.23's you were in a dead spot and the car wouldnt run for crap. if it had been a little lower when you hit it you woulda stomped him.

Re: NSX vs Trans Am
60 mph dead spot? My car feels the strongest from anywhere below 32 and 55 to 70mph. It wont kickdown in a lower gear and take off from 32 to 45 for nothing. Thats my dead spot....dont know bout you.

Re: NSX vs Trans Am
I don't race people from a slow/ or dead stop. I usually race from the speed limit on a highway, ( when traffic is sparce or non-existent) and my car always runs good til' I get to 130mph, and then it just falls on it's ***. I'm thinking that maybe I should go to 3.42s' in the rear. That might help me pull through that long gear.
