Default raced my stock ls1 vs lt1 with full exhaust

My 2000 ws6 m6 vs my friends 94 transam m6 with kooks long tubes and corsa catback,no cat.otherwise stock.my ws6 only has a lid.We went down to 45mph and both dropped to second gear and then hit it.I started to slightly pull and by the time i shifted to third his front bumper was at the back of my door.when i shifted to 4th his front bumper was probably 2-4feet behind the back of my car.I could just start to see his full car in my rearview. Then when we let off at about 120 i was probably two car lengths ahead. His lt1 is also a very strong lt1.he would always beat other lt1's when he was stock.his car has like 48k miles on it now.Just want to know if this race sounds about right.

this kill shows the enhancements that GM made from the LT1 to the LS1

Nice kill ! But I would have expected a full exhaust M6 LT1 to put up a better fight than that. He may have beaten other LT1s because he was a better driver NOT because his car was a "strong" LT1. If it were stronger than most LT1s, I would have expected his car to either hang with you or barely nudge you out. Just my $0.02

Well it was an auto up until last year. And when it was an auto he would really not lose to any other lt1's.He is a good driver with the stick too though.he still has 3.23 gears in the rear from when it was an auto.i know they dont help him any but it doesnt seem like they are hurting him either.

Sounds about right to me. He weighs more than you and has less hp even with his LT's.

I was funning around with an LT1 from about 55-60 to 90-100 on the highway a few weeks back. His car sounded great, very throaty, guessing he had full exhaust and at least a CAI. I have a Volant and Magnaflow, A4/2.73. He got the jump by a hair(bang bang) but I pulled on him as soon as it was matted. I'm glad I waited to get an LS1.

I raced my friends full bolt on LT1 M6 when I first got my car (stock). I was a little depressed because he was able to steadily pull me from a 40 mph 2nd gear roll.
