04 gto vs. supercharged 05 mustang gt the gto is bone stock, the mustang is mostly stock with a vortech @ 7psi, and custom shaker hood style ram-air, maybe exhaust not sure. both auto cars, both on street tires.
the mustang got the gto out of the hole by about 1/2 car- stayed DAMN close all the way up till the very top end of the 1/4 mile, with the stang putting a full carlength or a little more on the gto. semi-close race, the gto got a better launch last weekend and the mustang a poorer launch, which resulted in a very close gto victory last week.
i raced the mustang, got a horrible launch (spun, let off, then got back into it again) and put about 3 cars on the o5 gt by the end of the 1/4- about the same as i beat him by getting a good launch on street tires last weekend, but i blew the launch on nitto's this time. racing along with us was a 05 EVO mr edition (mitsubishi evolution, special edtion 6 speed, 12.9's from the factory). the evo was susposedly running 12.60's- he and the mustang were very close, but the evo put about a 1 car + 1/2 on the mustang up top.
the mustang owner mentioned getting a stall and gears (and tires i would assume)- which he requested a re-match with me. i accepted since he has not even seen a sub 2.0 60ft launch from my car

well- the evo got the gt by about a car or so, and i got the gt by about 3 cars or so- so yes i beat the evo, and the evo just got the mustang up top. this was on a 3 lane road btw so it was all during one race, not 2 separate races. i watched them battle it out behind me in my rearview mirror
