Default haHA! Red 05 Mustang! Byebye!

My heart's still pounding.

On the way home I see four big round lights in the rearview - MUSTANG?

Sure enough. I see him coming up at a good clip so I downshift to third, his nose gets to my door and then the race is on! I pulled him pretty good, shifted to fourth and it was time to hit the brakes for a rotary. We exit the rotary, I'm in second and we both get into it, I'm still ahead of him and then shift to thrid, still walking him. Time to hit the brakes for a red light!

We're stopped but he won't even look over at me. The light turns green, I thought maybe he'd had enough of an a$$ whooping but no, he goes for it again! I get a bad start and bog a little, he's got me until I reach for second, chirping the tires, I pull by his red ford a$$, hit third and now I'm looking for him in the rearview.

We come to another red light, he still won't look over at me lol. We go opposite directions and now here I sit with my victory beer telling my story.

Me = 02 Z28 M6 bone stock with a SLP lid.
Other guy = Bright red 2005 Mustang, mods unknown. I'm pretty sure his car was not an automatic.

That's two kills for me since June. The other one was a WRX STi (the one with the big wing.) The short story to that one was I murdered him on the straights but he caught up on the corners. I almost lost it in a high speed corner! Those WRX's outhandle the stock z28 easily.

Disclaimer: Both were about as safe as street racing can get and no one was injured. I hope there are no cops on this site

Haven't got one on the street yet, but I got one by 1/10th at the track. He had Borla catback, CAI and a tune. He ran a 13.3, I ran a 13.2 bouncing of the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift. I typically run 13.0's at this track. Still a good race and those are really nice cars.

Thanks guys. It was fun.

You fellas posting low 13's would murder a stock 05 Mustang. I have yet to run the 1/4 mile but my car only has a lid, it might weigh a little less than the average Camaro since I have no options other than ac, stock hurst shifter, 342's, Monsoon indash, and rear defogger.

Get home safe, 01ls1lover. Thanks for going over there for us! We all owe you one.

I pulled up next to a silver 05 and threw a rev at him but he just looked straight ahead.
I can't wait to run one.

Haha. Thanks. That is of course what I intended to say.

Hey, my last car was a 96 Cobra, you know 4.6 DOHC 32 valve. How would the 96 Cobra do relative to the 05 Mustang GT? Stock for stock, of course. Any guesses? I'd like to know becuase my brother now has my old Cobra and we may someday.

You got that right. The power is all up top on those. That Cobra sings a sweet tune right up to 6500.

When the 05 stangs came out I didnt expect much out of them even though they can be real slick looking.

you cannot achieve complete craziness with a 220/224 cam, you must go bigger
