My 99Z vs. 04 Mustang GT well, I finally got a little revenge on a Stang that got me a few weeks ago. (cliff notes at bottom) I ran against him in the 1/8th and he was running consistent 8.44-8.48's while I could only manage an 8.58 that night. His mods are alum. Explorer 4.6, 3.73's, upgraded clutch and slicks. He was cutting 1.7x 60's and I could only cut 2.0x. My car is basically stock except for the mods in my sig. I.e. stock converter/gears (3.23).
Fast forward to this past Saturday. He now has a little headwork done and a 100 shot. He didn't make a motor pass in the 1/4, but he pulled off an 11.97 w/ a 1.6x 60'. I knew I didn't have anything for that. When the track closed I left a little earlier than he did and he caught up with me just as we were getting back into town on the Interstate.
From about a 60mph roll, we jumped with him jumping out to a car lead. Around 70 his pull stopped and I went by at about 80-85. We let out at about 100-110 because of a curve ahead and I was about a car ahead.
We then slowed to about 50mph and jumped with him getting a better jump and a car and a half out. At about 75 I stopped his pull and at about 85 I was going by him. This time the road was straight and I pulled about 3 cars on him to about 135-140. I then backed out because that's the fastest I've taken my car. It probably would've gone 160 easy, but I didn't want to push it that far and I was already out front. I hope I'm not being "Supra-ish" by posting this as a win because of the high speed I had to win at
I know roll racing is teh ghey, but he pulled up next to me and wanted to go.
