Default Raced a STS Turbo WS6

Met up with a guy lastnight at the local hangout that had one of the STS rearmounted turbo setups on his WS6. Very nice setup, and strong running car. His car had made 508whp from what I had heard on 6.5psi, but he was running 8.5psi and methanol lastnight. So maybe a tad more?

Decided on a 50 roll, no nitrous being used on my part. Little bit about my car. 03 Cobra, ported eaton @ 17psi with supporting mods, IRS, and stock manifolds on the car, slicks and skinny's with rear seat delete, still weighing in at 3750lbs with me in the car. It has dyno'd 544whp 525tq SAE cooled down and ice in the intercooler system, It has also ran 10.89 @ 127 on the blower no nitrous. To my knowledge its the quickest and fastest IRS eaton car in the land with no nitrous.

I thought I had jumped him some, but seems as if the turbo was a lil late to spool so it may seem like I went early, but it was on the 3rd honk. Race was off a 50mph roll to 130ish or so......

enjoy - putfile might be busy, so keep trying.

i think maybe something was wrong with his car. lik 508 without his methonol and the extra boost and you 544 hp and proably a heavier car 3750lbs . i think he should have taken you, unless he just cant drive. no offense, looked like a good kill nice job , but just my opinion.

I was expecting him to pull a tad harder, but you never know, its just a good night when no cops, no broken parts, no **** talk between the two parties and two nice cars have a legit race.

I would really like to see that turbo wind itself outself with a forged bottom end and 20psi or so....I bet that thing would be an animal.

it performed exactly like i expected it to. i'm sure the dyno graphs between the cars would tell the story pretty well. peak doesn't mean ****, when will people learn.

nice kill

That was a slaughter. Nice run. I got a buddy w/ an STS kit. I believe he told me you can run up to 10 psi on the stock bottom end with the right tune, not that it would matter against your car :p

Default sts

somebody told me that those STS turbo systems are only dyno queens, that as far as true performance per HP/TQ that they were really crappy.

Did you look at the torque curve? That was frickin awesome! That car has almost 500ftlbs from 2500-6000rpms. No turbo will do that with a peak of only 500ish. That is the mistake of thinking in peak numbers only. I think that the STS should have pulled harder though if the guy was truthful about his dyno numbers. Check out the forced induction section to see various turbo set up dyno charts and you will see that none of them look the same shape as the one above.

Hey thats an awesome car, but hardly a fair race running almost half of what you were. I gotta say, I don't like mustangs, but I love them 03 Cobras!

508 hp at 6.5psi??? That's the greatest tune ever! Unless he's had some internal engine work I don't see how he could possibly have that much. Maybe I'm misleading myself and assuming something that I don't know. But at 5# it should be about 415 and w/ 6.5 I've seen cars getting maybe 450-465. But congrats on the kill, and STS may be "dyno queens" but they're a blast on the street... no joke. ;-) Beating stock cobras for me is one thing but you... I think i'll stay away ... for now :-D later.
