Default GOT HIT UP BY A TT 300z

ok a buddy of mine just got a 300z twin turbo prolly a 91-93 not sure but he wants to race me.Now i knwo some of this import cars are fairly quick and some purty fast with mods.My question is he wants to race this weekend all he has is a cold air kit and he said he is gettin his computer upgraded.SO if we race whats the outcome were just doin it for fun but were both competitve.my mods are in my sig..SO what you guys think should we roll race.or go dead stop and whos coming out with the big win in this match

If you raced from a roll you would most defenitly lose. But you would defnenitly win from a dig.

you are very wrong. you will win either way. it will only be worse from a stop. the come factory with 300hp. and run low 14's high 13's. there lt1 territory.
you dont have much to worry about at all. esspecialy with your mods.

They are quick, but I second this opinion. I have seen a couple and they weren't impressive at all. Of course they have the potential, but with what he has..........have a lot of fun and don't blink or you'll wonder where he went!

Not to mention the car is 10+ years old, who knows how well it has been maintained. I'm puttin my money on you.

Had a freind with a 300Z. It humiliated a modded NA Cobra from a roll, when he was barely modded. I mean nasty bad. This was at altatude, but none the less, I dont think its a sure thing. 400 WHP is not hard. And this guy might not know the whole story on what mods are in the car. A light crank pulley actually makes a big diff in the 300Z's.

That computer reprogram might be a nice Jim Wolf ECU setup that has this nifty lil switch that instantly puts you into a race gas map. Hello timing advance/great spool/more top end.

Of course, it might also have boost leaks, phantom knock from worn lifters, and a slipping clutch.

I'm with Unit. Race. Post. Learn. Everyone who is really fast understands that you dont get there by just taking it easy and going for the easy stuff.

make sure he doesn't try to sneak a boost controller in there. That cheap mod will make him a lot faster.

The 300TT's had trouble with getting the turbo's out of sync after all these years from what i hear. At least, thats what the only owner i have met told me. Said he ran 13.9 with it. But yes, they are VERY easily upgraded. anything import TT is. (within reason)

You can't just slap a BC and turn the boost up on those TT's. They can be fast on a roll when modded. However, they are extremely horrible from a dig. Factory rear anti-squat suspension kinda does that to you. You shouldn't have any problem taking him if you can actually drive.

also take into consideration the age of his car. it might have lost a step or two through the years?? either way you got this one in the bag.

Jim Wolfe and Stillen offered a computer upgrade good for 60-80hp. However, the car is heavy for it's size. I believe its around 3400/3500 pounds.
