03 Z06 vs. 03 Cobra

Stock for stock with an equally good driver...who is going to win?

01MMMZ28 12-16-2005 05:55 PM

The Zo6 will win w/ your senario.

OdessitPashka 12-16-2005 05:59 PM

z06 should take the win :)

Redneck Z 12-16-2005 06:03 PM

Should be roughly high 12's for the cobra, and low 12's for the ZO6.

300bhp/ton 12-16-2005 07:11 PM

Reckon it should be pretty close.

A well driven 03/4 Cobra should be able to do a 12.6 @ 116mph. But I have seen claims of slightly better.

But the Z06 should have the edge.

99Hawk262 12-16-2005 07:18 PM

I've seen a Z06 with DR's and a Vararam intake run 11.7...not sure what the MPH was. He's a NOS moderator on here. But in your stock trim scenario, Z06 easily. Like Redneck Z said, low 12's for the Z, high 12's for the Cobra. Oh yeah, I want both those cars!

Firehawk0220 12-16-2005 07:21 PM

Another vote for the Z06.

Z06 wins hands down. End of story. Period. There is no debate.

We all know this will never end

You can argue this topic back and forth but why? What a waste of breath. I guess if you just like to argue. :( Everybody knows what stock ZO6's generally run and what stock Cobra's usually run. A Cobra running a 12.6 is as likely as a ZO6 running an 11.7. Both have been done, but are not the norm. Your average stock ZO6 is going to run faster that your average stock Cobra PERIOD.........

ps. I can't wait for someone to chime in with the but, but what if the driver of the Cobra was better and the ZO6 couldn't get traction, and but, but, but....come on. :drive:

which car overall responds better to mods and which can be made faster cheaper?

My friend ran a 12.4 with a 03 Cobra motor in a 99 cobra body, only mod was x pipe, no headers. Wait he had Nittos too. On average though Id bet on the Z06.

ULTIMATEORANGESS 12-17-2005 12:12 AM

z06 wins easily.

what ifs, when, who, how all end with a z06 in the lead.

dan03mach 12-17-2005 12:20 AM

I would put my money on the Z06 stock for stock..

SSilverSSurfer 12-17-2005 12:25 AM

$$$$ on the Z06

vizaracer 12-17-2005 12:39 AM

stock for stock, i'd say the vette, but only by a couple cars... but modded.... thats a different story.. haha.

Saw a stock 03 cobra with a very good driver run a 12.5 at atco raceway a few years ago on street tires.
