i raced on from about 65 and he said go so he got a pretty big jump and then we hit traffic. then we turned around and raced from a stop, and i spun through 1&2 but never saw him after i hooked up. pretty fast for a neon. oh i when we were stopped i was like "nice car" and the guy driving said "yeah it is" what a ***. i think a blown cobra would have no trouble at all!

In your case you probably dont have anything to worry about, but they can be made fast just like any other car.

stock, they're slow. Modified heavily, they can be respectable.

yeah basically...i worked at a dodge dealer so i drove a bunch of them..they are quick but everytime i raced one even when my car was stock i would beat them fairly easily...as a matter of fact i ran one at the track and he ran a 14.2@99 mph...not to bad i dont know if he had any mods or not though

I killed at least a dozen of them in my day, ranging from stock to Stage II (all slaughtered).
Never ran one that was respectable, but believe me, they're out there.

nice kill- and those fwd neons are no joke off of the line. they lift the wheels and **** yo- 2.2 60ft's with slicks. NO JOKE! wooo WOOOOOO!

on a serious note, you've got to be kidding me buddy. look around there are like 1000 kill stories for the srt-4's- no need to make a new post because apparently ALOT of people are racing them.

btw n e one heard of blower spec spark plugs? i think they are, what, a few heat ranges warmer and gapped larger right? stanger88 told me they add 75rwhp so im gonna get a set i just need to know what dey are.

peace

blower spark plugs??? lol

yea- the srt4's are a joke for the mostpart. I don't know why anyone would buy one and heavily modify it, when you can get lots of nice/faster cars (98+ ls1's) used- for like 1/3 of the price.

I've seen one go 13.7 bone stock with a good driver. Every once in awhile a factory beast in the right hands can give a stock LS1 a good run. Give the same driver the LS1 and he'll definitely get below 13.7, but they're not as slow as people would have you beleive. They give you a better run than 99-04 GTs at least.

Ive raced 2 of them at the track.

One was a stage 3 with slicks and was running 12.7's with 1.8 60ft's

The other had a stage 3 with drag radials and he was running 12.9's with 1.9 60 ft's.

Both were full interior daily drivers but, hehe, the first guy broke a drive shaft halfway through and the second guy blew his clutch on the last run of the night. Pretty quick but the do have problems hooking up, even with drag tires.

Raced a stage 2 with toys , intake , exhaust , running in high octane mode from a 40 mph roll to around 115+ and we stayed dead even. They can put up quite a fight if modded properly ( and usually from a roll) , but most out there are owned by dipshits that are stock with a BOV and think they are unbeatable.

I had one for a year. Pretty quick car. I had about $300 in mods, and it was good for mid 13's.

They suck off the line.... all that power and a contact patch of just 6.5 inches.

And for you haters.....it's not like Fbodies are all that much better I had a lot less rattles and better fit and finish in my Neon/Skittle/Womans Car/etc than my SS.
