Most cobra's,..that I have seen my buddies race, aren't **** due to DRIVER.
From what I've seen on the street anyways. But, ofcourse, there are acceptions to the rule.

Actual mods you would need to beat a stock one would be headers, good cam, gears, tune, stahl converter, full bolt ons. That should put you with a set of sticky tires right at 11.7. That is if you dont want to spray. Spray is cheaper.

One key reason is ignorance. If you keep fuel going to where it should and dont get greedy, nitrous is very safe. Especially if you have a window switch(a device that controls the rpm range that you actually spray IE 3000-5500.). Run a good fuel pump or go with a stand alone fuel system(a fuel cell that feeds your nitrous only when at WOT) I use a stand alone and put 118 in it. Motor loves it. If you take precautions spray wont wear on your motor like a turbo or Super charger. I hope that helps.

Spraying IS cheaper.
Alot of people,...don't take offense to this, are afraid to spray simply due to LACK OF KNOWLEDGE or just not alot of experience with the gas. No big deal, you just gotta learn about it. It's easy to use,...the only problem it doesn't last forever.
I'd recommend a wet shot,...wet meaning it sprays FUEL and NITROUS....at the same time. If your manual, which your not, get a window switch(RPM ACTIVATED SWITCH) which allows the nitrous to come on at whatever RPM the person would choose.
I would recommend a fuel pump for anything over 150.
Get yourself the TNT F1 kit,....and you'll be good to go.
Nitrous works great, as long as the user knows what he is doing.
Theres other things to add but, it really is easy man,..don't be afraid of it. Chances are, you'll use it, and then become a crack(nitrous) addict.
Go for a ride in someones car, on and off bottle. You'll be impressed.
later, J

true but I find around here when those guys tell you a few mods, they dyno around 400-435 range. Damn things are easy to get up there!

stay N/A or if you want to go with forced induction and/or nitrous.
We need a complete mod list from the Cobra guy before we could tell
you what you need to beat him. My car is stock, so if he has some bolt
ons you could be in serious trouble.

They ET from 12.43 - 13.50's and trap from 107 - 116mph. That is generally
dependent upon the driver. I went 13.0 @ 111mph on a 2.4 60' in mine.
Of course I only made 5 passes before modding it and I was just figuring
out the car. A 12.70 @ 113mph would've been possible. Most stock
LS1's ET from 12.8 - 13.5 and trap 101 - 110mph.

@ 121mph for comparison sake. That's a bit out of the ordinary
though. Most cars with those mods run 12.2 @ 117mph or so.
