Default destroyed a 350z, but not by much...

Since I moved here to the bay area a few months ago, I have caught only a few races. I caught a good race with a brand new ferrari F430 spyder and I had a 150 lb passenger and at the time plus 60 lbs of stereo equipment. We were dead even from 70 to 100mph, after 100 I started to reel him in but we had to get out of it because of traffic, we ran a few times with similar results.

An even race against a white 03 and up cobra with blue stripes here in the bay area, dead even from 60 to 100, I started to walk him after that.

Another race against a fellow board member here in his stout H/C LS1 camaro(415 rwhp) with 4.11's, again dead even from 60 to 115.

And then last night a black 350z, Ive searched a few 350 forums in hopes he would post the race there, but I only found a few forums through google. Anyways, from about 70 I had 3 car lengths on him by 120 the first run, which isnt much considering. Id like to assume he was running an FI set up with similar power #'s. Good race nonetheless, Id like to find out what exactly his set up was.

Ya, i ran a stock 350Z and put a lil' over 2 cars on him 70 to 90. You definitely found someone with a few mods.

actually you know what, by the top of 3rd I had about 2 cars on him, and at 120 or so that gap widened to about 4 cars. I still think he was running FI, as I ran a seemingly stock LS1 f body a few weeks ago and instantly put like 4 car lengths on him by the top of 3rd. I think a stock f body will take a 350z by a good amount.

A stock F-body should do about what I did to a Z from what I have experienced. If he was only 4 cars back by 120 then he musta had SOMETHING done...FI would NOT be out of the question.

He may have been supercharged or something like that. Everyone has a kit out there for our cars so there is a lot of possibilities. You might also wanna check on www.my350Z.com you may find him on there because 350zmotoring and that one are the most popular ones. From a roll we don't do too bad against you guys though so it may have just been a NA with bolt on's ya know. Yesterday I raced my boss's 97 camaro with the lt1 and he has headers back, intake and reflash on the ECU. I hit it at 2nd gear at about 40 mph and 2nd through 3rd I was at his door but by 4th and 5th gear at about 120 he had a little over a car on me. That guy you raced surely wasnt' stock but I'll keep an eye for him over on 350zmotoring for ya! Good race

I was in my Daily Driver, not a stock f body, you WILL NOT give me a run for my money in a stock 350z (see sig/404 rwhp ZO6)....A stock LT1 f body Im sure a 350z can handle, an LS1 f body it depends on the driver, and I still think an f body will take a 350z up top a little.

I didn't mean me in particular giving you a run for the money. I meant one with either a Supercharger or Turbo maybe bolt ons. I know an LS1 can beat me right now. My buddy's have a 99 Vortech SS camaro and a 99 FRC Vette which has cat back and that's about it. I lose to both cause that damn LS1 motor is impressive. I can just kinda hang with Stock LS1's

Get yourself a turbo so you can start smoking some LS1's.

Your 350z is an impressive car, youll have to forgive my username "Importdestroyer", I chose that name 5 years ago when I had my blown LS1 and I was fed up with honda civic owners in hawaii. I love the skyline R34,33, NSX, supra, rx7-8 and 300/350z, just the fwd econo-cars get on my nerve.

The 350z blew me away when it first came out with its beautiful styling and if I didnt already have so much money in my Z I would jump ship to nissan if I had to do it all over again, for the amount of $ I have in my Z ($52k car/aftermarket) Id have a 500 rwhp 350z with a nice body kit, rims and who knows what else for sure.

Im happy with my Z though, over 1 g lateral accel. (nitto 555 R2's), an ovbserved 26 mpg all fwy, 400 rwhp on 91 octane N/A, under 3100 lbs, with trap speeds in the 8th mile the same as what my 94 Z28 used to trap in the entire quarter mile, Im a happy camper.

If my Z gets stolen I will be getting a 350 with my insurance money though, all of the aftermarket stuff wont be covered and its booked at $30 k right now.

I tried to log in at 350zmotoring but It said my hotmail email address wasnt allowed or banned, I was given the option to contact the administrator but was sent to a "forbidden" page, can you help me get on there? Or can you put this up as a link over there? Id like to know what this guy had....

I raced a 350z when I was stock about two years ago. From 40 (in my a4), to about 90 I had 4 cars on them.

Guy was probably in the wrong gear, best I could muster out of my stock LS1 TA was a 14.1@101 mph (M6 at that) which is right on par with what Ive seen the 350z do in mags, and from other z owners testimonials. Im sure over a hundred a car length or two but not 4 from 40-90, unless the cars used for measurement were mini-coopers.

Yeah, the track in hawaii wasnt kept very clean, the ricers there would constantly drag water from their back tires to the staging line after doing burnouts on street tires with their mighty 100 rwhp motors. That pass was with a 2.00+ 60 ft.

Yeah I cant drive, I wish I could drive as well as you. Considering Ive gone 195 mph on two wheels, 180 mph in my TA, 170 mph in my Z, and Ive had roughly two street races a month over the course of the last 8 years without mishap, I really cant drive.

Considering I have been a member here since 2001 and you joined last week with 5 posts maybe you should bite your tongue before insulting anyone here.

What does how fast you are driving have to do with driving in a 1/4 mile. A 14.1 is one of the worst times I have ever heard for a stock ls1.

Oh yeah? Whats the norm? 12's completely stock? I have heard of capable board members here posting mid 13's.

Again, considering I have been a member here since 2001 and you joined last week with 5 posts maybe you should bite your tongue before insulting anyone here.

Umm average is a 13. I wouldn't expect better from someone who had supposeldy 500whp, and could ony muster a 11.9. I've seen 343whp hit an 11.9, and low 12s. How stupid are you, it says I joined in july of 2004... thats last week huh?
