I saw an Evo VIII on the highway and he got next to me. Coming out of the toll booths, I was waiting for him at about 30 mph in 2nd gear. He caught up to me and I tried to time it so we were even. He got about a half a car jump and I reeled him in with no problem and topped out 2nd gear before I hit traffic in front of me. We lined up again at about 50 and I gave him the jump. He got about a 1-1 and 1/2 car lengths from the jump and I reeled him in, shifted into 3rd at about 5800 rpm (my redline is 6600) and put about 2 cars on him halfway through 3rd before I hit more traffic. I would have liked to get a full 40-120 or so race but it was too congested.
Not a great story but thought I'd share.

I couldn't tell much. He definitely hung with me a lot better than I was expecting him to. It sounded like he had an exhaust but once we were getting in it I couldn't hear a loud blow off valve or anything but my exhaust is really loud pand I had my passenger side window closed. He merged onto a different highway shortly after so I didn't get a chance to find out any more info. I wish I could have talked to him or something because it definitely had a surprising amount of grunt.
BTW, that's a sick quarter mile time for that mph in your sig. Looks like that AWD is doing it's job.

Nice kill, judging by your mods he probably had something done to his car. Im not expert on Evo's though.

Its all skill AWD is awsome if you launch good. I was either pulling 1.6 and 1.7 60ft's or 2.2 and 2.3 60ft's

If he hung with you that well from a roll he must have some stuff done to it cause that is not an Evo's strong point unless you have cams or upgraded turbo.
You probably didn't hear a BOV cause Evo's use a recirculating BOV so they aren't that loud. To bad you couldn't talk to him though.
