my car vs a lingenfelter c5 zo6
Was cruising ptown after I went shooting last night raced a black lt1 trans am 6 speed and wasted it then went to get some gas and I hear a blower wind up real quick and look over to see a c5 zo6 pull into the turn lane across the street.
so anywho i catch up to him and its got a lingenfelter body kit on it and a hood and some massive back tires, so i race him from about 60-120 and he only beat me by a car. and he got the jump on me real bad, i pulled up next to him and he refused to race me again. and i asked him what blower he had and he didn't no. pissed me off like none other, but I will get another crack at him.
Soposidy it was built by lingenfelter and makes something like 500hp I duno since my car would be lucky to make low 400s on spray at the moment. maybe he just sucks at shifting. but he never hit the rev limiter and never missed a gear.

I dont really know all whats involved. I know there are some suspension and engine mods that make it 480 or something hp vette. Still pretty slow and I can think of a lot more Id spend 60 grand on.

I don't think there is a such thing "supernatural" packaged vette. Some owners (which many don't even know anything about their car) tend to make up **** to look more/sound more impressive then what it is.
Also, those who have some knowledge about cars in general wouldn't believe that crap either.

I've never heard of a Lingenfelter C5 only putting out "only" 500 horses. The only two I was aware of put out upwards of 700-800. I think they were both TTs. I'm probably wrong though.

Well, I was talking about in terms of factory option package.
I guess if some one calls it a supernatural package and only has 480 bhp, it really doesn't do the name any justice since it isn't anything supernatural about it.

Probably only a Maggie car making 450 rwhp or so. It makes me sick to think a guy is driving around in a car liike that and does not know what kind of blower he has. You can tell the Maggie by the distinctive sound.

There area a couple of packages that the guy could have in a C5 vette that are standard LPE packages that put out about 500 hp..
1.) basic TT package (550 bhp)
2.) Supercharged package (500 bhp)
3.) H/C package (500 bhp)

Actually, according to Corvette Fifty Years by RAndy Leffingwell states, " Lingenfelter has options up to 725 HP from a twin turbocharged LS6 package costing $49,995 on top of the purchase price of the C5." Lingenfelter also was the one who produced the 1200hp "Sledgehammer" speed record carthat went 254mph.

the only thing i dont understand is a stock zo6 puts out 405hp im sure he just didnt only add a supercharger and if he did that must be pretty low boost to take it only to 500hp. Just my opinion prob wrong.

Wow, some of you guys are very misinformed. If you do not know anything about lingenfelter, you shouldn't speak of it. From the sounds of it, (big hood, blower) the package was the magnuson supercharger. Lingenfelter does that blower as a package. Just because its a Lingenfelter, doesn't mean its the fastest car on the road, or has 800hp. Their magnacharger usually puts down around 430rwhp from what I've seen. Maybe a little more for Z06's. I'm sure he quoted 500 horsepower to the flywheel. It's a nice setup, but not very fast considering. It's not made to be the fastest car on the street. It's made to be a nice and reliable increase of overall power. Between the setup having around 450rwhp, and him not likely being a good driver, and best of all, not knowing what was under his own hood, the outcome sounds about right.

I know more about LPE than probably anyoe here. I had a LPE vette (John's own personal car) for over 12 years. I went with John to Atlanta to test the then unreleased BFG Drag Radials with my car and a 605 big block 1990 Vette. I live 30 minutes from their shop...
LPE offers any many packages, I quoted the ones that would make sense with a Corvette that claimed 500 hp. I agree with BlackMagic that it was more than likely the Magnusun package since it had the hood.
All you guys that throw out quotes from car magazines need to get a life! Too many want to be players on this site.
