Default 99 SS vs 03 COBRA

I'm on the way to get gas when I see this 03 cobra at a stop light turning left, so I follow him. We get to another stop light and I'm right behind him because of the other cars on the right lane. light turns green and he hits it and I follow. so I finally pull to his right side and we have about 50-60ft ahead of us. He gives it a little gas and I can hear that beautiful S/C whine. anyway I follow him to another stop light and when the light turns green we smash on it. 1st gear I'm ahead by a 1/2 car hit 2nd and he's at my bumper, as I hit 3rd I'm still in the lead and my the time 3rd is about to end he catches up to my door, but to late I won. Another stop light was just up ahead and we let off because of cars in front of us, but it was a good race. I don't see how the hell I beat him. The whole time I could hear his S/C. Eventually he would have caught up and walked me if we had a longer stretch, but after the race he said "that was good" and I gave him a thumbs up and go my own way. I sure was happy about the win though. I'm still smiling as I'm typing had to be driver mod! It was a black 10th anniversary

Kinda odd but great kill man. The guy is probably looking through the Autotrader for an LS1.

I almost want to cut my cowl to add a polished Magnusen blower. That whine is soooo nice.

Before I sold my 03 Cobra I ran a guy in a 99Z H/C/I...etc from about 75mph up and pulled him pretty hard. At the time I had catback, cold air intake, and 2.94 upper pulley and a tune. It dynoed 450rwhp with those mods. After I changed to a 2.76 upper pulley and a more agressive tune I dynoed 480rwhp and almost 500 torque. They are amazing cars but there is no buying a cheap used shortblock if one of those motors lets go.... gotta love the LS1.

the F-body is a LOT more forgiving to drive than the Cobra, or so I hear. In an informal light to light run by MM/FF the Mach1 test car KILLED the cobra for quite a ways before the Cobra caught up and finally passed it due to the IRS causing such a crappy launch.

I'm not sure where you were looking, but 3 grand for a fully built bottom end is pretty cheap if you ask me???
