Factory Freak F-body!?!?!?

Factory Freak F-body!?!?!? I have a friend who has an 02 sunset orange SS. He blew the motor, and claims he bought a new one out of an 01 Z-28, but 
I raced him with the fresh motor and it wus like i was standing still. It's either a factory freak from hell or he dropped an LS6 in there. But when you pop the hood it looks bone *** stock. stock lid, stock paper air filter, no nitrous lines, no obvious lope from a cam. I cant figure it out what the hell is up with this car?
All mods i have:
lid, cutout, aftermarket MAF, ported throttle body, full exhaust(besides headers) MSD wires, 3.08 gears

could be an LS6, could be a factory freak, there arent factory freaks like there used to be though, but there are some "faster" than others, but back in the day, there were some real standouts, so i hear.

I also have another friend who has an 02 Z-28, he's a cam only car, with full exhaust, lid and nitrous. You may know him. His car is wicked fast, even off nitrous. The specs on his cam are 228/232 .550 lift cut on a 114 LSA. Not a huge cam but fast as hell. It's a rare Lingenfelter GT9 cam. From what I hear it's a limited production cam. like 1 of 12 in the nation, i'm not sure of this cam. But this is for sure a factory freak, no doubt about it. He put down 420 to the wheels, with out nitrous. Its fkin crazy.

Not to split hairs or anything but i'm pretty sure a "factory freak" is a stock motor, not a cammed/full exhast/nos car.

yeah it's probably that GT9 cam, 1 of 12 in the nation... I'm suprised he found one, they're super rare. Most of the big cam manufacturers stopped grinding 228/232's on a 114 because they were kicking so much ***.

Its possible to get a freak motor from a swap. I got a new motor under warranty at 14k miles due to piston slap. New motor dynoed 350rwhp SAE corrected with lid and loudmouth. Thats IT. It is a numbers matching LS1 with 241 heads.
