C6 Z06 VS. Mercedes SLR Mclaren??
My question is who do yall think would win from a roll between the C6 ZO6 and Mercedes finest the SLR Mclaren??
C6 Z06:
Horsepower: 505 hp @ 6300 rpm
Torque: 470 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm
Max rpm: 7000 rpm
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Weight: 3132 lbs
0-60: 3.7 sec
0-100: 7.9 sec
1/4:11.5 @ 127
Top speed: 198 mph
Mercedes SLR Mclaren:
Horsepower: 617 hp @ 6500 rpm
Torque: 575 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm
Max rpm: 7000 rpm
Transmission: 5-speed automatic
Weight: 3800 lbs
0-60: 3.8 sec
0-100: 7.9 sec
1/4: 11.6 at 127
Top speed: 207 mph
I know at the drag strip there would be some great matches but how 'bout from a roll??
Also which one's better in the handling department??

Interesting comparo. I've seen a C6 Z06 walk a Gallardo hard from a roll, and a Lamborghini is nothing to scuff at. The SLR McClaren is fast for sure, but its got a significant weight disadvantage against the Z06, and the handicap of having an automatic with only 5-speeds. The SLR's weight should be 3734lbs, not 3527lbs as you listed, its quite a heavy car.
I think the Z06 would definitely outhandle the SLR, being that the McClaren seems like more of a GT car than a purebred sports car, with its heavier weight, automatic transmission, and luxurious interior apppointments.
I'd love to see a race between the two cars, but I honestly think the Z06 would win, going from either a dig or a roll. It may be down about 100HP, but the 600lb weight advantage, manual transmission, and closer gear ratios can definitely make up for that.

Also didn't the C6 Z06 post like one of the fastest times ever for a stock car at Nuringberg in Germany?? I think it was 7:43.
The C6 Z06 posted the second fastest time for a stock prodction car at the Nuringberg ring, the only car that posted a faster time was the 400 000+ Porsche Carrera GT.

I thought the vette was putting out an honest 505 hp @ the flywheel because they were using that new SAE Standard where the HP figures are verified by a third party..

It obvious that the slr would pass it eventually due to the top speed.

even though the zo6 has a quicker 1/4 mile time, imagine how long it took some test drive junkie to do it? the slr being automatic and electronic traction aids and pedal control actually has the advantage. its a no brainer, just point and shoot. compared to the vette that needs to be "finessed" to those times. one slip up of any kind on the track, and its all over for the zo6.
