Default Srt 4 and Cobalt SS Vs. 02 SS

SO i know your not supposed to post "what if" threads, but this race is set up i just would like your opinions...
SO these two kids at my school think they are the ****, but they are total ricers, the SS is stock, bu the srt 4 intake, exhaust headers and is running l ike 3 or 4 pounds more than stock,
i no ill take him from a dig, but from say a 20 or 25 roll should i have any worries?
race is this friday night, ill keep everyone informed...

p.s. each race has $75 on the line

cobalt has no chance. you SHOULD win..but it's impossible for me to say who will actually win. all i know is the cobalt is completely out gunned.

Yeah, slocar is right. The Cobalt will be eating your dust if you can drive. The SRT4 may be interesting...

git er dun!!!

Sorry... anyway, cobalt... not a problem unless you completely **** up the launch, and I mean completely... SRT 4... may be interesting, you are stock, and I've heard of them breaking into the high 13's stock... Running 3-4 pounds of boost over stock may give him the edge, but I don't know much about these cars and how they respond to boost increases on the stock turbos.

i went 13.9s in my srt4 bonestock. low low 13s with a couple mods and a decent tune. SRT-4 VS LS1 is gonna be the real race. If you get a good launch it's over. SRT-4 is seriously traction impaired if on street tires.

cobalt - not really a race against a 02 SS,

srt-4, should be interesting....depending on who hooks better and who's a better driver, I'd say it's up in the air....

Good luck! let us know how it turns out!

If you can hook, I don't think you'll have any worries....if you can't I'd race him at a 40-45 roll, and you should pull him all day long. let us know what happens.

40mph is the sweet spot for srt4s. 'bottom' of 2nd gear and at the right RPM for full boost. im not trying to give away any secrets or i'd tell you what mph to go from where he'd be slow as *****.

My little brother has a Cobalt SS. His best at the track so far was 14.6 @ 97 mph. The car is a nice car for a DD, but not all that quick. Now after some mods he got the mph up to 103, but still has to work on his driving skills. It should be an easy race for you since FWD cannot hook from a dig.

Hate is such a strong word....but I digress. Yes it is just a neon....that can hand you your keister, if you aren't careful to find out what all his mods are.

The SRT is the only threat, depending on how he is obtaining and using the extra "3 or 4 lbs" of boost. But, if you are near sea level, you shouldn't have a problem if he has just an intake, exhaust, and a cheap way of upping the boost. If he has a bigger intercooler watch out, then things get serious.

a big intercooler on the stock turbo is almost a waste. the cobalt is gonna get left way behind and you'll probably inch out the srt4.

I lost to a pretty quick SRT-4, and I went to a local dynoday a week later and of the 15 SRT-4s there, he put out the crappiest numbers. That was a really depressing, I gotta start modding.

I went to a dynoday and intentionally put down shitty numbers to lure in some races.
