The logical right brain gets little exercise in a discussion of exotic cars. Fortunately for us, our scoring system acts as an onboard logic center to keep us grounded. A sobering fact: For the current price of a Ford GT, you could get a Z06 and put $100,000 in a Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund. Or buy two Z06s and put $30 grand in the Mega-Millions lottery. The Corvette is easier to drive in everyday traffic; has stability control to prevent you from wasting your investment and yourself; offers Cadillac-like creature comforts; doesn't attract as much unwanted attention (from cops and fellow motorists); and is just as fast around the road racing circuit. Our winner: The Z06.

From the local auto trader:
2006 Chevrolet Corvette, Z06 505HP, like brand new, touchscreen DVD, red, limited production, serious buyers only, no test drives, 3K miles, $89,900 OBO
And another for a paltry 84,500 with 75 miles on it.
Edmunds sucks.
Although I do agree with their overall assesment on this one.

the Ford GT has about a 80-100K mark-up price. When I sold Ford vehicles our INVOICE was 239K on the GT that we could sell. If yer gonna bitch about what you could do with the extra $$ that you coulda sunk into the vette vs. the GT. THen I will be an asshat and say that for the 70K you would pay for the vette, my 1988 mustang GT could run single digit 1/4 mile passes and rip over 1G on the skidpad and sport the most badass electronic entertainment package imaginable.

Not all ford guys are bad. I'm actually friends with every mustang owner I know. I even consider Unit, to be a very knowledgeable mustang enthusiast, that i look up to.. Even though I don't know him personaly.

I have been here a while, and my only post I have made that counted was in the Texas forum. All my posts in the racing section don't seem to be counted LOL
I guess I will see how many posts I can make and keep my post count at 1.

According to this site i found. http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette (Lingenfelter 427 twin turbo) will do 0-60 in 1.97seconds. while i doubt that very much, its the only 0-60 times i have found...

Performance:
0-60 mph: 2.9 sec.
0-100 mph: 5.9 sec.
0-150 mph: 10.9 sec.
0-200 mph: 19.9 sec.
Top Speed: 255 mph
Both fast, a mute point in my opinion. damn, 200mph in under 20 seconds.

I dont know if it matters any more but when I had my 2001 ss with k&n filter and no other mods, I would race my friends 04 cobra (he was bone stock) from a 2nd gear roll and for the life of him he could not pull me.
I bought headers, catback, ory, lid ported tb and he bought or/x catback and intake and then he started to edge me out a little after 4th gear. by the time he got a pulley I was done for.
