Ford guys.....seriously need to chill out

Just goes to show what small production numbers will do to prices. Honestly I bet if you look at real world prices, the Viper is more abtainable than the Z06. But the Z06 performs the same or better, yet does it in comfort as opposed to egg frying doorframes and NVH from the Viper.
I will say though that the GT despite its lack of driver aids, is regarded as being a car nearly anyone could drive. My fav mag is from Britain, and they dont play favorites as far as nationality. (They actually make fun of Brit cars a lot, its pretty damn funny) In anycase, they named the GT their Car of the Year over the Gallardo, M3, Elise, C6 (no Z06 ) and a slew of other high priced goodies.
Their basic take was that it has the power of course, but what they really liked was the fact that you could throw it around and know just exactly how close you were to becomeing part of the scenery, and do it comfortably. Personally I dont care about comfort much, but Im 23. If I had that kind of dough and was 45, maybe the extra $$ would be worth it for the GT. If I had the cash now, it would be Z06 though.

The logical right brain gets little exercise in a discussion of exotic cars. Fortunately for us, our scoring system acts as an onboard logic center to keep us grounded. A sobering fact: For the current price of a Ford GT, you could get a Z06 and put $100,000 in a Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund. Or buy two Z06s and put $30 grand in the Mega-Millions lottery. The Corvette is easier to drive in everyday traffic; has stability control to prevent you from wasting your investment and yourself; offers Cadillac-like creature comforts; doesn't attract as much unwanted attention (from cops and fellow motorists); and is just as fast around the road racing circuit. Our winner: The Z06.

One observant editor made the following comment: "Maybe they could fix it by simply throwing a 'Hemi' under the hood. It's worked for every other modern Chrysler product."

you have to love that from that link. Ironically, that's Dodge's intent for 2008 I belive. But I found this interesting: http://www.thehemi.com/news.php?id=20060228-1

Hmm, the 392 is coming back. If the govt. and Ins. companies stay out of it, the 426 will be next. I mean, you can get a 426 Hemi crate motor but it's old tech, nothing new like this 392. Nice.

I really blame lame assed mag editors for a lot of the Camaro's end. They just bitched and moaned about ride quality and NVH for all their articles, and then there would be a few paragraphs about performance.
"At the strip, its no contest......"
As if people were looking at these cars as competitors to Toyota Camrys or something. WTF cares about a few rattles?
But it had its effect, and most people got the GTs thinking it was the better car. Thank you GM for not updating the chassis or marketing the car. That also sealed the F-Bodys fate (temporarily )
I think the next gen will be a much more marketable car, as GM now understand that you cant just make a better performer, you have to show people why its better. I hope so anyway.

I wish I still had the video of my stock WS6 owning a stock 03 cobra back in 03. I'm sure that would shut the punkasses up.
I notice most people here give the 03-04 cobra props. Not quite the same in return over there.

I have full respect for the 03/04 cobras. I'll probably own one in the future, but face it there wasn't a fbody built in 03/04. Your not gonna tell me that if they where still made today, that the Cobras would still be on top. GM has always had there way with those cars and I don't believe that they would've let the fbody lose without some updates. Face it SVT, GM got out of the game right when you guys where catching up!!!!
