Wow, I got picked on this morning..
First off, this story is ficitional. I get a little delusional in the mornings before I have my coffee, and will sometimes spout off stories that never happened. I'm about half way through my first cup, so my mind is starting to come back to me, but I'm fairly certain none of this actually happened
So, I'm rolling to work this AM, minding my business, looking down at my gas gauge vs. the trip odometer, and thinking to myself "man, my gas mileage is getting better. That tune work is starting to pay off." I should also note, that since my car is a touch on the "leaky exhaust" side, its a little noisy -- so I keep my foot WELL out of it in the mornings to avoid scaring cats, chipmunks, old ladies (with good hearing aids) and small children. Apparently, this morning was going to be the exception to that rule.
I see a car pull out from a side street, a Mustang, but I hardly give it a second thought until it passes me. 99+ bodystyle, SVT cobra badges, IRS so its actually some sort of Cobra, gauge pillar full of gauges, Altezzas and a Saleen bumper cover .. Ok, my car is loud, but I can hear this one over mine, so there's something afoot. We don't catch the light side by side, but rather him in front of me. Light goes, we ease out and he switches lanes at the first opportunity -- and we're off! I'll say this much, heavy ol' 19 inch HP Racing EVO wheels and el' cheapo Dunlop 275/30-19's just don't do much for you in 1st gear. Or 2nd gear. So, we get to see what the back end of a Mustang looks like. Until 3rd gear.
All in all, it was nice to actually meet up with another enthusiast on the way to work and have a little fun. If anyone knows the guy, give him another for me.

Whats done to the formula? If I remember correctly, I think I remember you talking about a run in with a viper a LONG time ago, back when I was pretty new to the site. Either way nice run!

Its a hodge-podge of parts, that isn't very fast 370cid iron block, JE pistons, Lunati H-beam rods. Old school 293 cfm ported cylinder heads, not even opened up for the 4.000" bore. 238/240 .605/.609 cam, and (get this) 918 valvesprings with OVER 3 years and 30k miles on them We're talking PRE-BLUE STRIPE springs, folks! You know, the ones that were "failure prone"? Yeah. Still in there!
Beyond that, its more 1999/2000 era stuff. LS6 intake, stock injectors, T56, Spec 4, Moser 12 bolt with 4.11's, Hooker long tubes, Hooker catback, slammed on the ground (Hotchkis/Bilstein/Alston/BMR conglomeration of a suspension)
Oh yeah, its also sittin' on 19" HP Racing EVO's.
Raceweight, sitting on Welds, is 3720. With these 19s, its gotta be over 3800.

Yeah, the weight kicks my *** - but I love the "full street" feel of the car. My Mustang is being built into a (much) faster car, but it still retains that "full street" feel as well. I guess I'm just not the "lightweight mod" kinda guy
I'll "fake race" anyone, but most of the guys here would easily whoop my ***! I'm betting my Formy runs 11.80's on regular tires, and its run 11.40's on ET Streets. Isn't that sad?
