Default 98 cammed TA vs. blown 02-03 GT

Well i was out at the usual hangout spot earlier tonight in Dothan, AL and this guy in an 02-03 GT 5sp pulled up and asked if i wanted to go from a 70mph roll(since we both had street tires) w/ my TA. He said it was just a bolt-on GT and even though my car is tuned like **** i figured why not. I have an F14, all the usual bolt-ons, vig3200, 3.73s, dynoed 397rwhp etc etc but i can only muster a mid 12@109mph in the quarter cuz my tune is all screwed up. So we went out to hwy84 and lined up side by side about 70mph and he did 3 honks and we both punched it. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He up and left me like i was standing still. We did it again from a 40mph roll with the same results. We pulled over at a gas ststion and turns out he had a kenne belle blower(which was quiet as hell till WOT) and he said he had beaten a 550rwhp Cobra only days earlier. I didnt get all the specs on his setup but he was a really cool dude and his Mustang was BADASS. I bet even if my car was running properly he would've still taken me out easy. Long story short, I got my *** handed to me!!!!!

Hah, good death, no shame there. I hear the 2V cars make more tq than the 4V cars when equipped with blowers like that, any truth there Unit?

i would've still ran him even if i knew he had the blower before the race just to see as well since its all for fun anyway. He took me for a lil spin in it after we ran and it pulled so smooth but really hard. It was awesome. I can only imagine how badass it'd be off the line w/ some sticky meats. Im sure he'd hit solid 10's easily w/ the right suspension/tires. His car felt alot faster than this magnacharged 01 Z06 i rode in a few months back that was pushin about 520rwhp and ran bottom 11's according to one of the newer G-Tech units that are supposed to be pretty accurate.
Im gonna put my M/T DR's on the TA and then race another local stang from a dig(he thinks roll-ons are for ******) next Saturday. He has a cammed/sprayed 94-95 5.0 GT that runs 8.30s in the 1/8 mile so maybe i'll get him despite my crappy tune and hopefully get the race on tape

Hey, anything with the word Kenne Bell in it is a beautiful thing! They do offer a turnkey 6.0l LS2 w/a KB now...fordged bottom, iron block, blablabla and it made 700 engine HP. You can do that with RWHP on an 03 Cobra though. http://www.turnkeyenginesupply.com/Street/60700.htm. Good death.

Not on a turnkey engine you can't, and what grade fuel is it being run on?

nice death. i'm thinking he had to have some internals, i just can't imagine the stock guts keeping up with power he's pushing. i'm not sure what the stock rods can handle in the gt's. either way nice death, never get tired of hearing a kb scream.
