STS LS1 car gets cracked by GN.
One of our boys made a pass against an STS turbo'd LS1 TA on Saturday night.
GN gave 3 and the hit to the TA, then took him by 4-5 cars up top.
Video.

There will be some LSx payback...blewbyu is bringing the single-digit, single-turbo GTO to our track rental next week. Looking forward to seeing that car run.

Wow that GN is sick. Reminds me of the first time I met a GN (and my first loss). Only had my car for about a month and was at a light and saw a GN pull up, but I thought it was a regular monte carlo ss not a GN. To make a long story short ive never been pulled that hard by anyone! Happened to see him at a local car show like a week or so later and talked to him and typical built GN pushing about 600+ whp with tons of weight reduction. Love those old turboed 6's!

However, the car is on pump gas with alky.

Not on a stock displacement 109 block he isn't. If you get into stage motors, it's possible, but it's also big-bucks.
And 10's on pump gas is very, very rare.
I'd be very interested in hearing what his combo is. Does he post on TB.com?

It's more of an acquaintance than a friend. He's usually at the local get togethers on the weekend. I will stop by and see if I can catch him this Saturday. Damn thing is fast and street legal. At least what he has told me. It sure sounds mean too.

A near stock displacement 109 block can support 10's on pump gas no alky, with expensive heads (GN1), proper cam and fuel management (FAST). Going fast more than a handful of times in a GN costs money, just like any other car. If you start to add up receipts for the past 20 years, it should be a large number. I've only had my TR since 2000 and I have enough in it that if I had saved that money instead, I could go and buy a used C5 Z06 right now.

Maybe 10's, not "low-10's".
We may see a 3.8 liter 109 block car go 8's this year depending on how Bamford runs, but those are obviously 30+psi cars on FAST with C16 (at least!) in them. And you're right, that's a pretty big-dollar program. However, if you spend the money right the first time, you'll likely save a motor or two down the road. These damn cars are too fragile. Most of us have wiped out something at least once.
The large majority of TSM cars are in the high-9's/low-10's, full-tilt.

Not much hooks out the hole like a GN. I'm seriously happy now I've got my Chevelle to launch like that. Gonna be fun this Summer. My little Brother (6-8" 250Lbs.) has an '87 that he's getting ready to run alky on. Sweet car, 42K miles on it and CLEAN.
