Default bad death TA vs. C5

I raced a M6 FRC with Intake/Magnaflows. Both cars had 1 driver + passenger. We went from a 20-25 mph roll and the dude took the hit way early when I was honking... whatever, he got a big jump, I was WOT by the time he was 3/4 car ahead. So I just wanted to see if I could stop his pull, but by the time I was at 120mph the guy had put a grey hound and a half between us. I knew my car was slow for an F-body, but is that right???

Also, the guy was leaving his tires all over the road at 20-40mph roll-ons (he didn't want to go from a dig because the guy obviously had no moderation, he woulda been sideways all over the place.) So would you guys say this guy has some mods he's not letting us know about or should I sell my factory dud for a C5?

^ I haven't been to the track, cause it's 2 hours away and everytime I make plans something has to come up... but I went to the dyno with a drop in filter and 3" cut-out and only put down 271 SAE. I know, that doesn't really answer your question, but I wish I knew why it was such a dud.

That's the problem right there. Not saying you would've beat him from a stop, but it probably would've been closer.

If you're an A4, you definitely don't want to run with a 6sp from a roll.

Yea, A4 stock verter arent too great from a roll unless that roll is 25 MPH or under. Plus a 6 speed FRC isnt the best thing to race in a mildly modded TA, they are easily 12 sec. cars with a good driver (as are most corvettes) and if he's having a problem with taking off, unless his tires are horrible he has some more mods. Your numbers do seem a little low, have you done all fluid changes, plugs/wires, etc.? A converter will change how you feel about your car being a dud!

I'd say that sounds about what should have happend,...regardless of the vette being stock or not. If he was, he's be at about 311ish,...if he had intake(if it was a vararam, watch out, I went 3mph faster in the quarter) and a catback he'd probably be at another 20 or 30 to the wheels.

To give you an idea, way back when, my car(frc vette) layed down 355 with long tubes, ls6 intake, home ported TB, plugs, wires, vararam, and tuning(stock catback). I think I made 370 or 377 rwtq.

He's gay for not raceing you from a dig. Nothing wrong with roll races(for the occasion) but,... for not wanting to dig.

Hmm, whenever I nailed my Snake at 20, she'd spin all the way to a buck 30 or so, with Nittos on. I had to put Hoosiers on her to think about hooking up.
