I was on my way home yesterday and noticed what looked like a prety nice Mercedes in my rear view. He seemed like he was trying to catch up to me because he was weaving in and out of traffic. Anyways he catches me and looks at me as he passes and I see the SL65 AMG on the back with the V12 Kompressor badge on the side. I knew he would slaughter me but I proceeded to catch him and give him a rev as we started approaching a stop sign. I didn't know if he wanted any so I left the line slow and kept it in first and waited. He was a little behind me when I hit it and he quickly went from my rear bumber to me being at his rear. He then got over in my lane because there was a car in front of him and I had to let off for a split second because he cut me off a little. I then tried to stay with him as best I could to about 80mph and he only had 2 cars on me when he let off. He definately had traction issues and eventhough it is a small car it wieghs 4500lbs. I then gave him a thumbs up and went on my way home. His car sounded awsome at WOT and looked amazing as well. All in all I just wanted to see him get on it because I knew the type of power those cars had and that he would kill me with ease. For those of you that don't know the specs. stock a SL65 AMG has 604HP and 738TQ from a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12.

Yup they are quick :-) But kill the bank accounts......the hennessey is just as fast, more fun to drive, and was 1/3 the price.

I wonder if he added the V12 Kompressor badge, because I don't think they come stock like that. Mercedes only uses the 'Kompressor' badge on the supercharged models, not the turbo I believe.

Thats correct, the SL65 says V12BiTurbo, if you saw Kompressor, it was a SL55.

No one in their right mind would swap the badges off an SL65 for the Badges of a SL55.

IF you got smoked by a 55 its all good too, those are smoking fast too.

It did say Kompressor but I swore it said 65. Oh well lost to a slower but still fast car.

Kompressor from what Ive been told, Kompressor means somthing like Force induction so it could be turbo or sc. My freinds buddy had a 4 door benz that was turbo and it said kompressor on the car also. So it means the same...

No it does not.

The current fleet of Mercedes that bare the Kompressor badge are all supercharged.

If it said Kompressore it was not a BiTurbo....Trust me....

He may have just gotten a Kompressor badge for the side, he said it was on the fender, not the rear. They only say V12 on the side dont they?

Then somone put a kompressor stick on the car, it was a older one not a new one. Im not into euro cars really at all......Well I am just benz to much tech and it does the driving for you..

I hate to say it but all that torque the Benz makes gave me a run for my money too. Until we hit 140 and the weight began to slow the German Monster down. From 140 on my speedo I began pulling on him like a freight train and reeled him in by 151 and started to walk him. At 180 I was 5 to 10 cars ahead of him and stretching it. To me the coolest part of this story for me was that we got off at the same exit in downtown Detroit (Gratiot) and we were sitting at the light together. That was when he yells over WTF you got under the hood kid??? I said you pay for pizza papalis and I'll show ya. For anyone not familiar with Downtown Detroit and Pizza Paplis, it is by far the best pizza. It is just like Giordano's for the Chicago members, but better flavored crust. After dinner I took him for a ride, and asked to go for a ride in his Benz. He loved the ride in my Corvette, and I couldn't get over how smooth the benz is at high speeds 100+ mph. I wished he would've let me drive but there was no way I was letting him drive my baby. So it was all good. I wish I still had his email, the dude was loaded. Claimed to be an executive for Daimler Chrysler. You know what I believe him. Had a wad of hundreds and inch thick when he paid for the deep dish pizza.
