Default Can I beat an 15psi SRT-4 with my Z

This guy I know that has a new srt-4 wants to race me real soon. He said he's got 15psi boost. Thats all I know. I just wish I could get the cutout and sfc's that I have installed sooner. My tires arent that great either. I'm thinking he's got me because he said he raced a pretty new vette and beat it. Who knows though, maybe I have a chance. If I raced him today all I have is what you see in the sig.

I dont know how much more 15psi is more than stock or if that is stock for those srt's. if you are a good driver, (a lower elevation cant hurt) and you get a clean run in, i dont see why not. although i ran an srt4 about a month ago from a roll and it was hard to shake. i dont know what he was pushing for pressure though... If he beats you, thats life. It happens sometimes.

We'll see. When you went against that SRT-4 you had all that listed in your sig?

sure did. im sure this kid's car was pretty modded, he looked high schoolish age, like his daddy hooked him up. but, when i race, i ALWAYS let them have the jump, especially imports. that way it makes it more fun.

Yeah I just saw in an SRT-4 forum that stock is 11 to 15 psi. The guy your raced must have been around 20 psi.

I'm pretty sure 15 is stock boost, but it tapers to 11 around red-line. Perhaps he means he is holding 15 PSI throughout the rev range?

SRT roll racing is on if he brake boosts. (hold brake while you guys beep to get boost up then take off) but if he doesnt do that then youll take him from a roll. from a dig its all driver..

my SRT had boost =20 tapering to around 16 at red line. 3" d/p,3"cutout with stage 1 and FMIC stock paper air filter. and i raced a WS-6 and took him from a dig. but on the highway he would pull about one- 2 car legths 30-120ish. he had long tubes catted Y and exhaust cutout with intake ****. nothing major. should be good but mostly driver race and depends if he brake boosts. good luck and get it on video.

Stock srt-4 spikes at 15 psi, then drops to 11 psi around 5K rpms or so and holds that till redline. If he means he holds 15 psi all the way to redline then hes probably running an aftermarket waste gate actuator. Either way I think you will still beat him so just run him and see how it goes!

yea a srt-4 come stock running 15psi...by lookin at what u have in ur sig(105) i think u will beat the srt4..my buddy has one and when he was stock i beat him by quite a few cars...like 5 or 6..a decent driver can run a 13.8 but thats the best i ever saw out out one of those stock. and your 01 z should run better than that stock plus u have a few bolt ons..the lca's should help u cuz those srt4 spin a lot off the line most of the time. i'd say go tear him one

Default yes!

yes. you can beat him easily.

a stage 2 srt4 runs 21 psi. and i beat it. and the driver had half a car lead because of slicks at the track. even at stage 2 they only run mid 13's. and still dont out trap us.

Holy hell that was a bunch of responses. I raced him from a stop. This guy could drive though, he got a good launch, i have never raced a fwd car that could hang w/ me off the line. Thats probably why he rolled with a group of camaro's.
