Raced 04 Mach 1 but..
I dynod my car on a slipping clutch and put down 415/381 corrected. So, I ran a bolt on Mach 1 and beat him by maybe a car. I had 3 people in my car with me and he had 2. I know the clutch (spec 2) was slipping when I raced him but could it make that much of a difference.

Slipping clutch, driver skill(?) and weight all make big differences...altogether can make a huge difference
Sprayed1998, your mustang sounds REALLY nice. I used to have a 94' lowered black GT w/custom wheels & I really like that body style, with lowering and nice wheels (and the FR500's are very nice) they can look awesome IMO. The Saleen parts certainly don't hurt either

Slipping clutch means the car doesnt go forward as well... in simple terms.
The clutches dont 'Grab', they spin.
Even a little slippage can cause big differences.
With respect for both sides, thats the truth.
I put 45,000 miles on a 5 Speed, and understand his POV if he is telling the truth.
But nice race, I havent had the Liberty of Racing an 03-04 Mach 1, but I would like to

Ok, I just took my friends car out and raced the mach 1 whith a completly stock TA down to the exhaust. The mach 1 put about 2-3 cars on it, so I took my lid, maf ends, and smooth bellows and tried it again. We were side by side till 4th and he pulled to the bumper.

having a bad clutch is the same thing as having a bad driver, not saying you are one at all
but thats what bad drivers drive like all the time. riding the clutch. :sniff: :sniff:

However, so will hard launches, powershifting, and racing, but I wouldn't consider those "bad driving"

Of course a lot depends on the quality (or lack of) the porting he has done to his intake.
