I got beat by a Z06 and i think he missed second too!

I got beat by a Z06 and i think he missed second too! Well i was driving tonight with my gf and i noticed a corvette behind me.. well i decided to see if he wanted to play so i goosed it a little bit in first and he followed. then he came roaring by me at about 60mph... and i noticed it was a Z06... and it sounded AMAZING! He most definately had exhaust work done.
Well I decided to chase him and finally caught him and we were crusing at about 50 mph.... in a 45 to begin with, so i hammered it and so did he, but his car seemed to jerk awfully hard, almost like he missed a shift, and then he got it and pulled about a car on me. We raced from about 50 to probably 80 or so.... I thought he should have pulled SO much more on me than that. What do you guys think? Did he just miss a gear, or did I actually give him a decent run? mods are in sig. Thanks!

Who said anything about Ls7?? 98RedBird was this a C5z or a C6Z?? Yeah 50-80 is a very short race so if he pulled a car in that short of a time thats sounds like a whooping to me especially if he had trouble at the launch. If you would have kept going it would have gotten real ugly.

a Z06 (c5 or c6) would get ugly against a pretty much exaust only a4 car....i know from experience..lol...nice death, thats why i did cam,90/90 and stall...so i can keep up a little bit better...

no, it was only a c5 zo6. but we were pretty even for a little bit, and then he pulled a little on me, I was at his rear bumper when i let off because my turn was coming up, and im not sure about the speeds.. i know we started at about 50 but i dont know when we let off, i wasnt looking lol. anyways, it was fun! And it was a really nice car!

Honestly man, it sounds like he probably put it in 4th to race you. He could have dropped to 2nd and put literally a bus on you by 80. Most guys with vets can't drive for $hit... Sounds like it was fun though, that's what life's all about.

Well, im going to put up a thread about it but here is vid of me racing my wife in her Z06, my Cobra is modded upper/lower pulley, tune, idlers and new plugs. Only thing is it may be heating up the blower too much with the 4# lower so I actually might be losing power, I'll be switching to a 2# lower later thsi week.
