Default Ran a TT 300ZX

I was on the way back from my pop's office, and I ran up on this black TT300Z, I saw his lic. plate that said TROYSTWN, so I at least knew that he was a lil excited about having his car. I slowly pulled beside him and just kinda inched away. As I expected, he stays beside me wanting to run. I oblige and start gearing down slowly, he drops it and takes off. He gets about a car lead on me before I hit 3rd at 80 or so. At the top of 3rd, I stop his pull sharply, then 4th gear I proceed to pull him like he hit the brakes. We finally got an even race, and it wasn't even close. We went from a 60 roll, and I started pulling hard immediately. He came back up, and was like damn, I just can't hang. We pulled of the hwy, and talked about eachothers cars for a minute. He was still in h/s, and didn't know to much about his car, but he was a good kid, and gave props to my car as I did his and we went our ways..sorry for the long read, I just enjoy people who aren't afraid of losing, and are nice about it.

BTW, his mods were exhaust, some computer upgrade, and intake.

Good kill. they have about 300hp stock so they are fair game. With a turbo/fuel upgrade he could be a very fast car.

I always wondered how those cars ran against our's. You have some mods under the belt and it sounds like it'd be more of an even race with a closer-to-stock LS1. Nice run!

for stock, a tt 300zx isn't bad. It runs anywhere from 13.7-14.2 depending on year. Some factory freeks at 13.5s and bad ones at 14.4s. I wouldn't call it slow but an ls1 should be able to edge it out bone stock.

there lt1 territory stock. with the mods you said he had, he's around 400flywheel hp. they also reffer to that as stage 3. those cars are very capable given the right mods.

^ Yeah sounds like he had the Jim Wolf intake, Stillen ECU, probably a cat back of some type. When we took the four cats off my brothers 90 TT he gain about 20 hp on the dyno. Free flow exhaust is the best thing you could do to those things. You should have asked what PSI he was pushing as well. Cause with those mods your able to put out 15 pounds safely but some just keep it at like 11-12. Nice kill though and it's good to hear that he was cool about the runs and not some import geek in high school lol.
