damn srt-4's
 

my buddy hasa bone stock srt-4 and i have a 99 ss with "some" work. we go cruising sometimes when we are bored and most of the time on wednesdays end up in lemont at some srt-4 meeting and im 1 of the only f-bodys there.....btu anywho for some reason everybody will always leave at he same time so we will be cruising down the highway and he srt's just love to try and race me one after another they pretty much line up to race me haha its funny most of them i bet by about 5 lengths some up to at least 10.....and some by maybe 1 but have not lost to one yet.....i start in 3rd at about 3000 at about 55mph and go to about 120 in 5th depending on how bad im beating them......but they know my car now and hey wont stop i dont wnt to beat on mine anymore......how do i make them stop? cuase i cant resist a race haha :engarde:

If getting too many races is the biggest of your problems, i'd say you've got it pretty good man. Just be careful, one day a stranger will show up and smack you around, then the rest of them will never stop pestering you.

A stage 3 or a 50 trim might ruin your day. They got um in the 11's. Tell um stock to go hunt for something in thier league, like Mustang GT's.

was on srt forums the other day and i was pretty surprised on how well they run and how easy they are to make quick.

i raced my friend who says he is almost a stage 3 and i got him by a couple lengths.....yes it is lemont illimois dont know if it is worth going out there for a race tho haha go to strats on north avenue

Yeah I had a 50 trim SRT4 and took down a heads and cam 02 WS6 on the highway that made 420 rwhp by a couple of cars.

First of Unless they are even worse drivers than you there is no way in hell you could pull even a stock srt4 from a 3rd gear roll @3k rpm. What did they start in 4th or something?

Second why the hell would you be in 5th doing 120? My C5 with 3.42 would do 115 @ the top of 3rd.

I know your car isn't that fast that you can pull a car like that.

Do you honestly think he could pull even a stock SRT 4 that can drive from a 50mph roll if he was at 3k in 3rd gear?

Even better that his car makes so much power that he can skip 4th and pull in fifth gear?

Maybe some of the work to his car includes gears. If he has 4.10's, 50 might be a little too quick for 2nd gear. You never know.

well i dont know how true his story is, wasnt there so im not gonna bash him. but i can say i raced my boys 05 srt when we were both stock and i raced him from a 3rd gear roll at 60mph and still pulled on him. so it can be done especially if he has mods done to his. i dont know about the 120 mph in 5th though.

i have a 4.11 gear and some other mods nothing major and i never said anything about skippong 4 gear......there are srt-4's there that say they run 11's but im not gonna ry racing them and lose to a "skittle" i cannot get down to 2nd on the highway

i wasnt there this week i went to elmhurst for a car show insead my buddy with his srt-4 is out of town......maybe you will know about this "stage 3" srt then it is that burnt orange color witha carbon fiber hood and chrome 5 spoke rims? he is kinda a friend of my only when i run into him he told me his is almost a stage 3 whether to belive him or not?
