Default Raced a Dodge Stealth TT...

Woohoo!!! After leaving the local hang out spot, a Dodge Stealth decided to play with me. He just kept looking over at me and drove side by side with me for about 2 miles. I didnt feel like doing anything, but after 5 lights, I said lets go on green. We did... got him pretty good too. As soon as the light turned green I jumped out in front of him (I dont know how the hell I managed that especially with him being a TT and AWD ), my tires were begging for traction... through first I could see his front bumper was even with my rear tire... after I shifted into second I started pulling on him harder and harder... through third I could see him in my rear view mirror.

I really need a damn shift light. I tried not to overrev the engine and shifted at around 6k. I need it to keep my eyes on the road instead of the tach. Ordering one now.

After I started braking, all I heard was his blow off valve popping. He passed me up while slowing down, but this time his window was rolled up where before it was not. I gave him a wave and went home.

I rarely get a good street race in, and now I know how you guys feel after a nice kill. I think Im addicted.

This was on a road that had work done inbetween the concrete. About every 10 ft there was a bump in the road, and this is where my tires would scream and the rpms would go up everytime I went over those bumps. 75th St. is not the smoothest road to be racing on.

His wasnt stock; running more boost, downpipe, tune etc. Either way, had him good.

I think they are right about 14.0

pretty good for a 14 year old car.

Yeah, maybe when they're stock... this one was not.

A friend of mine had a TT Stealth. All he had was a downpipe and a boost controller. Managed a low 12 second run with less than favorable Chicago summer weather.

He gave me a ride in that thing, and when he drops the clutch at over 5k rpms that acceleration just nails you in the seat hard!

They are mid to high 13 second cars stock, depending on how hard the driver wants to be on the transfer case. Fastest stock time ever that I am aware of was 13.0. Alot of them nowadays are beaten on, ragged out, and running poorly.

Since you beat this guy off the line, that signals me that he probably couldn't drive.

They are about 3800 lbs curb weight.

Just FYI, raised boost on factory turbo's on 3/s cars is not as beneficial as other cars. Their tiny 9b turbos struggle to hold 13 psi to redline.

Not really knowledgable on the Stealths TT's, but I was surprised that I got out of the hole on him. Maybe he didnt want to launch it hard???? Who knows.

I was ahead of him the whole time and pulling away. I was on BFGoodrich KD's on the street, and everytime I went over the small bumps in the road the rear end jumped up and the tires spun and chirped when the hit down again. A kill is a kill.

Ill be going to the track as soon as the weather gets a little better. Hoping for a high 11 to low 12 second run.

Yes, the Stelath and the VR4 have the same engines. Its basically like the Camaro and Firebirds are the same, except for different sheet metal and different styling cues.

Yeah, the Stealth is like a 3000GT that got beat with the ugly stick. A product of the collaboration that brought the DSM Cars.

The stealth is not a 13 sec car by any means. More like low 14's at 100mph. There the slowest of the Japanese sports cars behind evo,supra,mr2,skyline,rx7,sti,etc.... All those cars are mid 13's stock.

When I lived in Tampa I seen a few stock stealths turn out high 13's.

First time I took my LT1 to the track when it was stock, I ran a 14.2, and didnt even hit 100mph.

After headers, gears, tune, clutch, and other misc things, I managed a 13.7 in terrible Chicago humidity with a 2.3 60'. Yeah, my 60' sucks.

I have not been to the track yet with this setup.

Its funny how we're debating and comparing the stock Stealths and 3000gt's when the one I raced was not stock. Dont see the connection.

his 1/4 mile time is going to depend on his ability to launch. ive seen alot of ppl with awd cars who just dont know what they are doing. or many of them think its cool to red line the thing and dump the clutch which is wrong. a skilled driver should be able to pull a mid 1.9 or even a 1.8 60' time on a bone stock vr4/stealth tt with regular tires. depending on weather, that SHOULD mean a 13 second time slip.
