Default 06 Charger SRT-8 & SRT-4 STG2

Last night I went out with my buddy. I had my front 265/35/ZR18s on the front and my old Eagle F1 GS-C's on the rear (245/50/zr16 @ 20psi) and I was out hunting for something good when an SRT was blowing off all over the place (sounded good, but then again I think almost all SRT4s sound good). Anyways, he said he wont race on the pike because he's got too many tickets and he will run on 5/15 up in hartford. So we roll up there and He didnt ask me one bit how fast/what I have done to my car. I didnt ask either. Three total guys in the SRT, me and my buddy in my car. We go from a 40 roll, 3 beeps. Im in 2nd (with new 3.73s) and pull him decent from the start (I hear his turbo hit hard in 2nd as well and Im thinking oh boy im done) and I just kept going creeping probably to a good 2/3 cars by 120/130ish I wasnt looking at the speedo. Anyways, we get off the first exit in wethersfield and pull into a parking lot- talk to him for a while and get his specs. I guess hes running about 19lbs on the stock turbo with stg2 and toys. I almost bought one of those. Good thing I didnt.

Then on my way home- Im cruising at about 65/70 on the highway and this charger gets behind me. He just lays back about 3/4 cars for 4or5 minutes and then crawls by me. I blipped it a little bit and he let his rip.. goddamn. Such a sick exhaust note. I thought for sure he was going to rip me a new one (425hp, right?) anyways, he took the lead and was definitely in the throttle, and trying but I would always stop his pull and pull /pass him. He rolled down his window, and was laughing at me (no one take offense- but it was some eastern european who was probably a total rich dick). So we went at it a few more times- same result.. but he wouldnt respond to any of my attempts to run from a 3 beep. Weird.

Cliffs: beat a STG 2 SRT4 and a nice sounding SRT-8 Charger.

good kills! I like SRT-4's too but i wouldnt buy one. I have raced a stage 1 that has a few things done and its not even close. I've seen a few in my area run that had stage 2 w/toys and i wasnt impressed. But i still think those cars are cool. I heard the srt-8's arent very fast. I figured its because of their weight.....but good kills

p.s.
sounds like your car pulls good

You only beat me because I spun off the line and you launched from 5500rpm in an awd car. Then I ran right by you.

Sounds like you guys are buddies, but jeez, anymore excuses. Was your AC on? Or are you having troubles holding boost? The Chargers have ran 12's stock, but they do weigh a ton, actually 2 tons.

425 isn't as intimidating when it comes from a car almost as heavy as my truck - which puts about 420hp at the crank, but weighs about 400lbs more - lol

Yea we are buds, and no my car doesnt have any troubles. Stock turbo on a 2nd Generation Talon is just waaaay too small.

Even though they're heavy the Charger and 300 Srt-8's are capable of running low 13's/High12's trapping at 108+. I've seen a few videos and timeslips to prove it.

Agreed TORNATIC, but if an LSx motor gets a good jump, these guys are gonna have a heck of a time catching a slightly modded LS-based vehicle. The one I raced took off and we ran neck and neck for almost the full length of a 1/4 mile. He had his wife with him and he got me by almost a length. He was impressed though and said he'd never seen a truck hang so well or get as good of a jump as I did. He asked what I had, told him a LS1 and he said "bull, what did you DO to the LS1 cause I have a stock LS1 and this'll beat it?" SO I admitted to a cam... he seemed to take that for an answer...

My car= ~12.8 @109 at the track with a sick (1.9) launch?

Whats a guesstimate.. this guy sounded like he had at least a catback on his charger.. maybe an intake.. it was AMAZINGLY loud. Made me want to have one, even though they're pigs..

Edit: I have 3.73s, a catback 3" piped mandrel bent with 2 reso's, and an SLP lid , I also didnt have my airfilter in.. oops.

And on the highway.. dont know if it matters but full hotchkis springs, bmr suspension components.. PHB, Kmembers, trailing arms, etc..

I ran a slightly modded LS1, gave him the jump, and had no problem pulling on it. Just depends on what's done to the skittle.

They usually range from mid 300s to upper 300s. A couple have gone over 400. And yeah, they weight around 2800.

Ok, so why would you NOT pull an almost stock LS1? I would hope so.. If my car weighed 2800lbs I would expect to murder stg2's...

But then again my car is what.. probably like 3650 weight with me in it? and another passenger = 3875ish?

thats a big *** load.
