Default 1999 T/A vs 2005 750 GSX-R

Well to start off me and a few buddies went out last night to see if we could get some racing in. So I run into a few cars not many of them are really wanting to run or would be much fun for me to race so this guy in a bike comes up to me and ask if I’d like to run him. So I figured ah for fun what the hell. I ask him what kind of bike he says it’s an 05 Suzuki GSX-R 750 with exhaust, powercomander tune, and it’s lowered… so great I’m gonna get smoked lol. He said it’s just for fun so I said ok lets do it. My mods are in the signature and then a 200 wet shot on top. He wanted to go from a roll and picked 45 mph… I didn’t really wanna do 45 I wanted more like 60-65 but he said 45 so I said alright. So we go out to he usual spot get them up to about 45 I’m in 2nd gear at about 4k RPMS or so and I start honking. On the 3rd honk I go, I get a little jump on him and pull about a bike on him. I shift to 3rd and he is still behind me I put maybe 1.5 bikes on him or so. Then I’m rolling into thing about to hit 4th and he pulls by me at about 80 or so. I keep into it and let off just around 115 and he is about 3 bikes up ahead of me. Good race it was a quick bike.
After the race a few of his buddies convince me to go from a dig with him so I said hmmm I dunno if that will be any fun. So they decide they will give me the hit. I’m on nitto drag radials so of course I can’t leave real hard. So we go back to the spot and I lower the pressure to about 16 psi or so. Then do a big smokey burnout and make sure the Nittos are hot. I sit there at about 3k or so and feather it and spray out the gate. The launch felt good I hit 2nd still ahead of the bike, haven’t looked back yet. Then I’m rolling into 2nd it’s the car feels good and he hasn’t pulled by yet! I look back and I see him it looks like he is about to pull me. I bang 3rd gear and keep into it and keep looking in the rear view. I’m at about 85-90 mpg now and I see the bike to my right in the window. He pulls by me slowly. I keep into it and then let off at about 120 or so and he is about 2 bikes ahead when we both let off.
Overall good races! Wished I woulda pulled but didn't expect it I need a little more nitrous =)

Woot!, that's good stuff. You putting down around 600whp with that juice. Interesting, I think there's more stuff done to the bike than he's telling you.

It was definitely a quick bike, for sure. I ran into a 05 600 that the guy said was dead stock and pulled by a bike or 2 from a roll. But this 750 had some GOOD top end. But yah that’s what he said was done to it… it was probably geared and had some other mods but I don’t know. I’m not sure what these bikes run stock 1/8th / 1/4th though.

750's are no joke. Alot more mid range and top end than the lighter 600's.
W/o N20, it wouldnt have been worth it.

Either way, good run.

That was a nice run. The 750 is a great bike and for his mods he is putting out around 135rwhp on that bike. Stock they are in the 125rwhp range.

in comparison my 2005 ZX10 put out 145rwhp bone stock and 153rwhp last time I dynoed it with the exhaust and Powercommander on it. Good for 180 top speed and some nice mod to low 10's at the track.

Oh I know my not to mess with 1000s unless not until im pushing 1000wrhp and with the rate I’m going that won’t be anytime soon! I more like to mess with 600’s because I can do pretty good against them as long as they aren’t extremely modded. That’s the first 750 I ran into besides the 750 carbed one that I pulled on awhile back with just a 125 shot. But I was happy with the outcome of the race. I have seen the guy I raced pull a 6.5 1/8th mile can’t remember the MPH though. Overall I was please with how I did. My friend got it on video so hopefully I can get him to send it to me and post it up.

I can see a car w/ 400RWHP plus a 200 shot keeping up with/beating a newer 750. 600RWHP is no joke. Don't get me wrong b/c I've been a sportbike rider for about 7 years now and I rode my buddy's '05 GSXR 750 last year. They are really quick once the rpms are above about 5-6K. You don't need 1000RWHP to run w/ a liter bike either. I think a solid 700-800RWHP and you're good to go. The problem then lies in putting the power to the ground.

i belive the website is carsvsbikes.com or something like that but mathematically if traction all goes well to keep up with a modern 01+ 600CC bike you need 450+ rwhp..i dunno my 02 Ninja 600 managed a weak 11.2 @ 122 last weekend..how much rwhp would it take in a car to do that?

Thats sweet man. Keepin up or beating any rocket is impressive. Doubt my SS will ever be as fast as my bike. Its a 929RR and i took it to one of those dyno-drags and it ran a 9.74 at 138mph with 136HP....now if i could just run that at a track i'd be happy. Probably be lucky to pull a high 10.

good kill, but something doesnt add up for a 10.0 flat bike not to pull you hard from a dig. Sounds like you outdrove him.

Sounds fun.

I mean I may have outdrove him but I do have a 600 rwhp car which is no joke on the street. I mean I dead hooked and he gave me the hit... so that makes a big difference. But it was a good race.

85 or 90 mpg is good in an fbody, mine only gets about 25 miles per gallon on the highway
