Default 05 2500 w/Six Pack Banks Pkg...

hey guys. i was leaving my friends house the other day when i was at a stop light. a 05 2500 quad cab diesel pulls up to me. he rolls down his window and asks me if i think i can hang? i said what do u have? he told me he had the Six Pack Banks Pkg. he was around 500hp/850tq! he said he had to run in 4wd or he would smoke the tires off. i said well all i have is headers/lid/tune, but im down for running. i saw him bend over to i guess turn the boost up or something. waiting for the light to turn green, i hear him power brake it to get the boost up, which was loud as ****! light turns green and we take off. i launch at about 2900 or 3000 rpms and spin pretty nicely.(didnt heat the nittos up ) we stay side by side til i slam in 2nd and i instanly pull on him and keep pulling til the top of 3rd with prolly 4 or 5 cars on him. i slow back down and he comes back up and gives me the thumbs up. this was with my cutouts closed too.

Turbo diesels can be extremely fast. I have an 6.0 F250 with Banks monster ex and 6-gun (my tow vehicle and DD). Add N20 or Propane injection and these trucks make most ricer's have a bad day, not to mention stock 2V GT mustangs.

I saw a 3500 HD series Diesel make 600 rwhp and 1000 rwtq run 10's. No Bull ****. In 4 wheel drive this guy nearly broke his front and rear universal joints hitting a 1.3 60' If I can find the link of that video, I will definately post it. I also saw another 4x4 diesel with the banks etc etc blow the doors off a cammed C5 Corvette. If memory serves the Vette ran a 12.0xx and the Diesel went 11.4xx Diesel didn't have that impressive of a TRAP speed, but his 60 ft times is what was killing everyone. 1.3xx-1.4xx to everyone elses 1.8 - 2.0 with an occasional 1.69 -1.79 60 ft really made the difference. Everyone tried to chase this stinky black smoke puffing truck, and all but one failed to catch him. The guy who won was actually in a c5 Zo6 and hooked well enough to keep from getting left at the line too bad, and he only needed the top of second before he was even with the truck. Ok sorry for rambling, I gotta find that link. Do a search on Diesel powered 1/4 mile racing, that's how I found it the first time.

yea i dont know if this guy meant he had those numbers to the ground or the motor. it sounded nasty as hell though! i had an old neighbor who had a 2500 quad cab fully loaded with a camper shell duramax diesel and put 3 stacker chips on and was able to run high 12's/ low 13's with it. he had to run in 4wd too. it was crazy how he could launch the truck with all that power and go back to factory settings in the same run with the turn of a ****. thats the beauty of a diesel.

Yeah diesels are cool

The Cummins unit the dodges is top and can make serious power, I think the biggest trouble is stopping them from melting tranny's. I believe 600-800rwhp has been acheived and well over 1000rwtq

I've a vid somewhere a 2500 Ram running 11's, trap speed wasn't massive but enough to challenge most things from a roll. It didn't even appear to smoke all that bad either as it fired itself down the 1320!
