Default 98 T/A vs. Roush Stage 2

I am on my way home from work the other day and I just got my rear end rebuilt with 3:73's in it. I haven't really "played" that much with it as I wanted to give it some break in time. Anyway I am on 285 going north and I pass a newer mustang GT and a vert mustang with side pipes and the top down. Wasn't really paying any attention to them till the vert pulls up hard to my left and the GT gets behind me. I look at the guy driving the vert and read the rear side window and i says Roush2. The side pipes were kinda cool but it wasn't making alot of noise. He revs at me a few times and keeps looking at me. He resembled a wanna-be P-Diddy groupie. His buddy gets behind him and the guy in the Roush accelerates hard. I figured what the hell...I mat it. Next thing I know...he's going backwards and I put about two car lengths on him quick...I mean really quick. Suprised me a bit as I have an A4 with a stall so a 70mph roll start isn't really to my advantage I thought?! Anyway we hit about 120 and i let off. What does him and his buddy do...a ricer fly by. Gotta love it. I had to veer off and go north on 75 so we never got another chance but I thought those cars were quick?? Made for an interesting ride home from work!!

I believe the only quick ones are the charged stage 3s, well at least quicker than a GT.

Good kill man. Put them suckers in their places.

I think (not to sure) but the Stage2 is only a suspension and apperance upgrade. The Stage3 is when they tap into the engine bay.

Correct.....in teh New edge (99-04) body, the Stage two is a stiffer suspension and body kit...that's mostly it. And teh stock 3.27's didn't help.

NICE kill though..I hate cocky driver's.

All the roush's are a complete waste of money. I ran an 05 stage 3 right after i got all the mods done on the TA didn't even have a tune. He barely pulled on me, if i woulda had the tune and was packing my spray it woulda been all over for the overpriced stang.

Good kill

thats one thing that has kept ford mustangs in the market though........they have alot of options when it comes to there cars anything from your simple v-6,gt,mach,saleen,roush,cobra.......i forgot some but you get the deal, GM needs to offer alot of options/versions for the new camaro for every level of buyer, be it for performance or someone looking 2 get a v-6

^I agree there.

But man, the next Camaro competes in both looks and refinement as near as I can tell, and as usual dominates at the track. Ford better get its **** together in the next couple years. It would be funny to see Camaros be not only the performance leader but the Volume leader too.

The best thing would be a huge market share battle where both sell lots of them. The Pony cars are a bright spot in a dark sky just now.

Rou$he and $aleen are jokes untill you get to their high end operations IMO. WTF pays like 40 for a Mustang that gets killed by a light modded Camaro? I like Mustangs, but not that much.

im just concerned GM will turn the camaro into a big heavy sedan type car to compete with dodge's 300c,charger......id like to see it be more performance orintated and not a 4300lb pig with an ls2

^I bet 3800 personally. Not good, but manageable.
I would really love 3400. I hope they realize that by having the same power as the competitors without the weight they can dominate pretty well.

Good kill.

I have such joy-joy feelings every time one of the guys with a stage-whatever Roush come around. They're really overrated an a complete waste of money. Go Cobra, Saleen or Vortech or go home, I say.

You ever wonder why racers can't just give props? I mean, why do the fly-by? I don't get it. Such bullshit... you came up, you initiated, be a man, I say.

Roush stg 2 = GT with appearance pkg and susp (handling) upgrades. You SHOULD have killed him. I won't go as far as to say these cars are a waste of money any more than a stock 2000 SS was when new in 2000...just different.

Good kill and it's a damn shame the drivers of American cars lowered themselves to a ricer fly-by.

Yeah, but your SS new was not the same price as a Roush stg 2.

Um.....a Saleen and Roush are pretty close in performance. In fact, I would put my money on the rousch stg 3 before the saleen S/C. Not to mention the Roush handling package is better than saleens..or so I have been told by a few owners. Saleen S281 S/C's (new edge) only put down 320 plus or minus. With our machs setup, it would be a driver's race. They still only ahve 3.27s and weigh a bit more. Not to mention machs have a better 3650.

Just my 2 cents.
