Supra's with T67s...?????

I will be racing 1 or 2 supras....both will have t67s, c16 and high boost. those are the only details i know. im pretty sure at least one of them is making ~700rwhp. the one wants to do a 60roll :eyes: i no, but hey, i am in a good spot at 60 too.... i will probly talk him into doing a slow roll too when we set this up.

anyways, i think they are nice cars, and i realize these are pretty fast. however, i think odds are in my favor in these races. i had some douche at the local gathering spot come up to me and say that he thinks im gona get spanked. :eyes: (he has a is300 turbo with 2jz swap that he's blown twice this summer, has yet to get it running properly, and suddenly thinks he knows this shit).... so...what can i expect in terms of performance out of these. sorry for the vagueness.

for the record, on bald dr's, a very safe 1 hr tune (street), 14#s, cutout CLOSED, and bouncing the limiter for ~1 sec i ran 10.9@141+. if we get a race set up i'll def take care of some issues.....just too busy right now w school n shit

So your question is, will you outrun 2 "9-12" second Supras in your 10 sec. LS1. Well, uh.. Don't know. You could just race them and find out.

02Vortech Sep 28, 2006 08:18 PM

good luck man- i hope you spank the supras down and then put it on streetfire and watch the BS fest begin

SupraSonic Sep 28, 2006 08:19 PM

T67's are considered the small turbos for supras. If they are dual ball bearing t67's, expect them to shoot out, hardly any lag at all with those. It'll be a good race, so the better driver will be the one to win it. Good Luck!

LSINA7-my question wasnt will i beat them.....settle down. i hate those threads as much as the next person. my question was "WHAT CAN I EXPECT OUT OF THESE" as in, how do they USUALLY stack up, what do they trap, what is a setup its comperable to. i was already lined up with the one guy but my boost pipe decided to blow off, so its not like im pussing out. im just curious.

thanks for the useful input suprasonic. i dunno if its BB, all i know is when we were about to go at it, it was at 60 and he was brake boosting hard, and took off pretty decent. i dont know how good of a driver he is considering he insisted on a 60roll.

from a 60 roll is retarded. Ask them why they can't launch their cars.

He doesn't have a 10 second car... if you payed attention, he's trapping 141+MPH, which with good driving and tires should put him well into 9's!

Hypnotiq Sep 29, 2006 01:13 AM

wow 141 mphs.... starting from a 60 mph roll... How long do u think it would take u to hit that 141 mph.. if it takes u about 9 seconds from a stop.. omfg... Thats just fast ...

SO I have a 9 second car, because it has the power to go 9's, even though I have never ran a 9. :)

What to expect, high boost from a 67. Well, expect quick boost, even if they aren't DBB they wil get in their range fairly quick. Upper 20's will put them in the 700's, but that is about the limit. But.. If you trap 141+... I doubt you'll have too much of a problem.

And to whoever asked why they coudn't launch their car... If I had an auto 67 Supra vs. a high 10 at 141 LS1, I'd happily do a dig. :jest: Traction is the problem there. I'm sure this guy with the turbo LS1 doesn't want to do a dig either.

JayplaySS Sep 29, 2006 09:11 AM

Looks like we might get to see this from the News helicopter. Looks like fun!

Turbo LS1 SS Sep 29, 2006 02:11 PM

I'd have NO problem going from a dig, at the track. even with my blad tires, have i had 3.42s and not 3.73s, i woulda def run 10.5 max at 145+...not a doubt in my mind. and thats with the cutout closed. i expect 9s next year with little change and some seat time. just need the gears and tires, and to it the dyno.

NIevo Sep 30, 2006 02:04 PM

Sounds like a fun race!! What is the chance of getting it on tape?

Turbo LS1 SS Sep 30, 2006 07:42 PM

most our races are on tape in high defenition...

diambo4life Oct 1, 2006 04:52 AM

I have my money on you. If you are trapping 141mph, you should be just fine, even on a roll.

From what I've seen, street full weight Supras with 70mm turbos trap around 140mph and the 67 is slightly smaller so mid-high 13x's if it's running very well. I say you have the edge with better power under the curve. Peace.

How much power you making?

C.W.A Oct 1, 2006 01:44 PM

you should win if your trapping 141mph in the 1/4!!

andrew1182 Oct 1, 2006 02:38 PM

i've got a buddy with a supra and at 840rwhp he was trapping anywhere from 143-146 in the quarter, so you're definately right there with them.

50 BMG Oct 1, 2006 06:00 PM

If they're in fact on 67's I'm guessing you'll have 3 cars or more from a 60-160 roll.

FEARSM Oct 4, 2006 01:21 PM

Depends on if they are autos or six speeds and also will depend on whether they have cams or not. My auto with cams on the SP67 with the small .68 a/r trapped at 133. Autos trap alot lower than 6 spds. A 6 spd SP67 with a bigger .81 a/r and cams will definitely trap in the 140+ range without a problem. Plus this turbo spools up VERY quickly. Should be an interesting race, especially if they know how to brake boost.

a little update...

there was a local dyno day....highest dyno won $100. i wasnt even going to go because it was $40, and im not even tuned, and didnt know how much i was making. obviously id be on the dyno anyway to tune, so it was pointless. but some dude spotted money for a buncha people so i couldnt pass that up. :)

i got there right after the black supra dynoed. he made 711rwhp and just under 600rwtq. he and his tuner said this was on 26psi. he was on 112 also. they said its street tuned and its got alot more in it. its a 6spd and has hks cams i believe.

regardless, he was on top, then i went and dynoed 721/751 at 14-15psi...the same way ive been running around lately. the supra owner is a nice guy, but everyone said when he saw the number he turned around and shook his head. woops..

needless to say we didnt get a race in as they were gone b4 my car got off the dyno. i know they will be working on that tune, turning up the boost if we ever get a race in. (so will i, duhh).... they said they will have no problem getting it over 800rwhp which is believeable....they didnt even get it on the dyno yet to tune (tuner just moved into a new shop and is awaiting a 4wd dyno)

if i really wanted to, i could prolly get 150-200rwhp more outa this turbo..... i prolly wont cuz its getting a little crazy and i dont feel like blowing up the car. regardless, right now it just needs to be tuned at this boost, and some other things need to be buttoned up. next issue is a little traction control...:)

the chances of this race taking place this year are slim as its starting to get nippley up here in NY, and its just getting stupid. no matter what speed i start at, and no matter how easy i ease into it, the car is just getting ALL over the place. im sure the supra has the same issues......
