Default Raced a blown GT

Well, one of my friends got a blown 03 GT over the summer and has been wanting to race me for awhile now. We finally had the chance yesterday, we were cruising along on this four lane and he wants to go from a 45mph roll. I would have prefered a dig or low mph roll, but whatever. After the third honk, we are dead even, I pull probably around a fender on him when we hit 65mph or so, then I pulled another 1/4 of a car around 100mph. Pretty good race, and it was a stout car. He made 360rwhp but has yet to run it at the track. He is running 8psi, off road X-pipe, tune and a 3.73 gear. I have a lid and 4.10s. It was a good race

I wanted a piece of the action too but he left. We'll have to run sometime from a dig shane. That's really the only way i like to race.

Eh, I'm not bullshitting anybody. Most likely he wasn't running 12psi, I heard that from a sketchy source. He was more than likely running 8psi.

I agree....especially if he is running the stock block short block. The crappy pistons wouldn't like 12psi very long.

either way, he beat an FI mustang with almost no bolt-ons. plus he has 4.10s and those are the best highway gears..... right? what if he had 3.42s or 3.23's. but thats just me, i love the highway and will never leave it

So what sort of FI was this person running??

Procharger, Eaton, KB????

360rwhp sounds LOW for a boosted 2 valve. KB's @ 9psi make anywhere from 380-420rwhp depending on other mods and near 500rwhp on 14psi and 100 octane.

Vortech S/C kit is what the Mustang GT has. it's a local car. We all hung out about 1 hour before the run. OnemeanZ knows the guy.

Yeah... 12psi would either send one of the crappy powdered-metal rods through the block, or destroy one of the hypereucrackedit pistons, unless it was a GREAT tune, on 93 octane, and even then it would be sketchy. 360rwhp sounds like a ridiculously safe tune, for somebody that wasn't really interested in pushing the envelope. It does seem low for 8psi, but most of the people you usually see running that kind of boost are running other bolt-ons as well, that make a big effect. Good run though... ya'll should go to the track and see what times/trapspeeds ya'll can get.
