Default Took my Dad out for a cruise, and….

We were just cruising around, and this 2006 Mustang GT pulled out of a gas station, and flew up to get next to me; I just went slow, and he went around a car and got in front of me in my lane. There was a car in front of us going really slow (like 35 mph in a 50). We were in the middle lane of a 3 lane road, and no cars were around. So I got on his *** about to pass them and he revved up and took off in the left lane and I took off in the right lane. I instantly put 4-5 cars on him up to about 110 mph and I let off. So I slowed down to about 40 mph to give him thumbs up, and too say hi, but he would not get close to my car so I just turned around and went home. My Dad had a heart attack about 10 years ago, he has diabetes, and a few months ago he broke his hip, so he has not been in a fast car for years (he was a drag racer in the 60s-70s). He was so excited!

To sum it up, I raced a 2006 Mustang GT from 35-110 mph and put 4-5 car lengths on him.

For a mostly stock Z28 to put that much on a new GT, is more than likely partially his fault, but good run.

It was an Automatic Mustang, the reason I said I heard him rev up is because I heard his exhaust rev up because he went WOT.

Ha - no matter what anybody says - killin' a Mustang is fun. I had the same kind of situation come up on my Thanksgiving 2005. There was a 2003/4 Mustang GT (convertible) at a traffic light and I'd only had the truck back for a month. I had already egged him on cause I didn't know what the truck could do and was itching.

We took off and I put at least 3 lengths on him. When I did a similar thing to a 2003/4 black Mustang GT from a 50 roll, I felt confident in it all. My Dad was laughin and sayin' I guess this thing is pretty fast....

Not really, you raced many new mustangs in you LS1? From a roll the LS1 will pull right from the start.

HAHA, Nice one bullitt. My buddy has an 06 GT auto with aftermarket exhaust and intake on it. From a rolling start I can put bus length on him fast. Now from a dig he can put a couple car lengths on me for a 100 feet or so. Of course then I get traction and it's all over from there

Well you must have a fair amount of work done to put "bus lengths" on him.

it dont take much to put bus lengths on mustangs..... look at my sig and from a roll and can put cars on top of cars on 03-04 Slowbras with their pulley/exhaust work done. and several were telling me that they were making close to 500, my car never made 500, but it makes close to it.

All right it is time for a Mopar guy to chime in (not like it matters) My girl has a 01' T/A that is an auto and is bone stock and I have raced a few Mustangs in it , she has also and I know they were racing. All of them have been put to rest. I have not run up against one of the new ones yet. I like Fords to, but this LS1 has some beef and has shamed many modded and stock stangs. If I liked G.M. products I would be throwing money at this thing but she likes it the way it is, so be it.

Have you ever realized that not everybody is a professional driver? I've beaten TONS of cars that I wasn't supposed to beat. Alot of guys with fast cars are morons. And som people lie about their mods. But you gotta sometimes realize that sometimes you win when you maybe shouldn't. AND you car weigh a few hundred pounds less than an '03 Cobra, so if you're making the same power, you're gonna win.

I'm the first to admit that from '93-02, the F-body was the clear performer. But it's still not God's gift to earth.

People give the new mustangs more credit than they're due. From what I've seen a good running lt1 would give it a good run stock for stock. Best I've seen at the track in decent weather is 13.80's. Same track I pulled 13.20's on my lid only 98 Z28, and track temp was 40 degrees warmer when I ran. Good cars no doubt and they sure are selling, but I don't see where they are on par with an ls1. Good kill.

Dude, a '99-04 GT is a good race with an LT1 F-body... you've seen alot of bad drivers.
