Default My new LT1 VS rice

Well most of my buddies all are into the hondas or acura's or whatever so im kinda the only big V-8 guy. Well when i pulled up in the new LT1 i just picked up today they kinda just looked at it and said "oh its an LT1". I said ya so these things perform pretty well too and their not just a push over. So they went on about how they have killed plenty LT1's in the past. So i said well lets go run from a 50-60 kick. They agreed.

First run was with a 2000 acura integra GSR engine with longtube, cams, tune, and CAI. Well we head out to the interstate and we let the traffic get a good bit in front of us so we have some room to play. We go to 55mph so i drop the A4 down to 2nd gear about 4k rpm. He does the three honks and i give him the 1st hit. As soon as he hits it he jumps bout a car on me but as soon as i matted it i stopped his pull and at the top of 2nd i was already passing him and third i just started walking. We get back and he says man i've out ran those cars plenty of times, I told him well i told you not to doubt the LT1 LOL.

So well after my other buddy with a 2001 or 02 acura TL type S with Long tubes, CAI, tune, and some other various mods. I do know he put down 240hp to the front wheels. Well anyways we head out bc he says the same thing as 1st guy "O I've beat plent of LT1s" I just laugh and say well lets go 60 kick. He says no he wants a 50 kick, so i agree. So we head back to the interstate and approach 50 mph. He does the 3 honks and we both hit it at the same time all the way thorugh 2nd we were bout even with me barely pulling at the top of 2nd. It shifts to 3rd and i put bout a car on him midway threw it LOL.

I have a 1993 Trans am Completely stock with 160k miles LOL and tearing up these poor lil new cars even with all their mods LOL. Overall great night. Except i got demolished by an LS1 SS

I love the whole ignorant attitude of "its only an LT1". Lt1's are still faster than about 90% of cars on the street and they're over 10 years old now. Nice job kicking ricer ***.

THANK YOU! LT1s are still quick. I love mine and I know that LS1s give me trouble, but my LT1 is still faster than most of the people i run across on the highway.

Awesome job representing the LT1! Keep up the good work!

what happened to the LS1 in your sig?? also...with a Auto you dont need to put it in "2nd" and shift it like a standard...defeats the whole purpose.

I've got both now the LT1 and LS1. I dropped it to second just so i could a good jump on them and not have to wait on the computer to downshift it. The LT1 really pulls pretty well up top, I raced a 03 CL typeS last night that has the normal mods and he ran a 13.5 @ 100mph. We ran from a 60 kick and a 20 kick, from the 20 we were dead even til it shifted to third and he pulled a fender on me and then once i got back into the powerband i started to pull pretty well and ended at maybe a fender @ 130mph. The 60 kick it was the same thing dead even til i hit third he pulled a fender til i got nto the powerband and i started to pull back up top. He doubted the LT1 also.

great job laying some LT1 napalm on their honda rice paddy. Thats what you get when you turn your back on a vette motor. With 160K on the ticker too. Ya know, if your boys bought their cars new + mods then they probably paid quite a bit mor than you also, how bout them appels!

If you do have a '93 LT1 with the original A4, yours is not electronically controlled. '94 was the first year they became electronically controlled trannys. Just thought I'd let you know if you don't already.

If he paid anymore than 3k, he got ripped off, IMO. You can find high mileage LS1's for 5k-7k, so I can't see him paying that for a high mileage LT1.

Mileage and Condition, although usually similar, are completely different.

Ive seen 60K cars more beat up, mechanically and cosmetically then 110K cars.

Good kills, but I'd hardly call that TL "rice." Those are NICE cars, and apparently that one is a solid 13s car, trapping about 100mph with those mods. And I had a GS-R, and I think (if done correctly) that they are good cars too. But like I said, good kill. How much do automatic LT1s put down to the wheels?
