Yeah, Save it for the 600hp civics that write fake ls1 kill stories. Those seem to get more respect.

At least its an f body, the predecessor to the car this board builds shrines to.

If I was an LS1 owner I would be proud my car was such a benchmark by which other v8s measured themselves.

Im not trying to impose here but why is everyone bashing him so bad.hp is not everything in a drag race.looking at his suspensiun and drivetrain it looks like he has a good setup.have you ran the #s on the block to make sure its a 305.ive seen a few guys put the 350tbi truck engine in those cars.some of those were rated at 230hp others 200.i myself have seen some quick 305s.more slow than fast.I was never impessed with lt1s but thats my opinion

A T56 and a handling oriented suspension setup is about the worst thing you could do for a drag race

And ALL TBI's were, and still are dogs. Those 350 TBIs were just as gutless as the 305s.

Sure, some may have seen or heard of a strong 305, but not a single one was TBI. They were TPI or carbed cars, with strong being a relative term here

I HIGHLY suggest the original poster take a look over on www.thirdgen.org and see just what a TBI is NOT capable of...

If you want to get technical, that's incorrect. This site was developed
around the LS1 platform, not fbodies specifically.

how long was the race in the vid for? what mods were done to the mustang was it auto or manual.hey 305 302eater your car looked very impressive in that video and it appears you can slam some gears.whoever said foxbodies were slow.you are bs.if that car was a stick with full exhaust low 14s high 13s very easy(on the mustang)ive seen cars run 14.0 at 95mph seen cars run 14.0 at 100 mph this is were traction is an issue.whoever said his setup sucked hm lets see t56 373s better than most oh yeah you also said stiffer suspension components were bad for drag racing ooook maybe springs but all the other stuff he has really helps.oh yeah lt1s are slow i can say this because i own an LS1.He beat an lt1 deal with it.

Thanks man i don't like to brag but i'm alright with shifting... As far as the stang goes i helped the guy and by helped i did alot of it... he has ful length bbk heders to a off road bbk x pipe to magnaflow mufflers. I swaped in a tko 600 into it and were guessing he has 3.23 gears... i'm not sure and since the owner doesn't know **** about his car he couldn't tell you... It's been lowered to. The 302 in it only has 90000k on it to so its not tired by anymeans... Thanks again for backing me up.... And when i raced him i had a bad clutch master cylinder... Its fixed now so if you think i could slam gears in that vid than a ya....

Well I could always make a sign saying you got your *** handed to you by something that looks better, handles better. O and you might want to read back, I think someone put it is very cheap to mod a lt1. So i'm not the first to bing in the cost factor here. A lt1 guy was.

O and the length of the race you saw we think is a little more than a quarter, not much more cause we were both doing 100+. And as i stated earlier in the thread, I highly dought my car will pull 100+ in the quarter.

yeah right dude. imo the race he described isnt possible just because ive ben there before.. in a quicker third gen vs an L98 and i know how it turned out every time, me and my buddy use to raise hell all over town. and then i also know how my LT1 did against that L98, granted im not stock, but it wasnt pretty.

but i cant belive this **** is still going back and forth like this, it aint ever gona get resolved like this. are you serious about finding some one to race?
