Was driving downtown to work this morning and this white color C6 corvette pulls up behind me as we are about to get on the freeway. I stomp on my car on the ramp onto the freeway and immediately pull on him as he stomped it. We are heading down the freeway and he pulls over to me in the fast lane and I was sitting in 2nd gear at 55 mph... which is a quick full throttle to a 3rd gear shift for my car. I do the 3 honk on him and we both launch it, I put about less then a 1/4 car on him on the pop, when I shift into 3rd gear he caught up that 1/4 and we were dead even, by the time I pop it into 4th gear he was about a 1/4 in front of me, and then the 5th gear I had about a 1/4 on him! We holded this and finally went into 6th gear, the last I looked we were at 140+ and we holded this for a while, I imagine we were somewhere around 150 or so and we both were not moving! I was maybe about a 1/4 on him if less and we both were not going anywhere. He finally started to back off and we go through a main intersection and there is a cop on the side of the road this morning and we are the only cars on the interstate... not good! He was at a dead stop (cop) and both of us hit it again, I ended up going east onto another freeway and he went south. The funny thing is after we passed the cop he put on his lights on us but never even came at us... at least I never saw him pull from the shoulder.... he probably clocked us at 140+..... guessing he didnt even want to bother or what... not sure.

Anyways I thought I would post it up. Anyone know who this guy is... it is a white C6 with black color rims. I am pretty sure his car is stock, didnt seem to be that loud at all... at least compared to mine.

I think those cars have close to 500 hp... thinking it was automatic? My car is only pushing about 425 hp I believe.... or did he just suck...? lol

If it was a z06 it has 500 hp....a regular C6 has 400.... but anyways good run.... its funny how the cope didn't start a pursuit but I'm not suprised...I bet your heart was pounding though! Good story

oh ok... I thought it had 500 hp... I was wondering all day... did it have bricks in the back of it? It was probably one of the best runs I have had in the TA, the C6 vette went up well to me.

Still scratching head about the cop... I am sure everyone will disagree with me... but I will only race on the streets if hardly anyone is around... yes I have here and there, but rare. But... if I get caught by a cop at that speed... I am already in enough trouble... mine as well try and get away unless he is dead on you and you arent going to go anywhere.... just my .02.

If it was white with black wheels it was probably a regular c6. I remember seeing a white one with gunmetal colored wheels. They look very good!

I dont mind high speed runs at all if there is no one on the road.

rims were black, gun metal black. Like that picture... but much more darker. The guy was probably 40-45 yrs. old and had a cowboy hat on... yea... lol. It was funny seeing that pull up next to me.... scratched my head on that one... and just got on with the race

True, I hate running cars in heavy traffic... only if there is basically nobody on the road.... only run in times where the other person is being really a jerk about it to me, then I will run them... other then that just usually give him the rev.

I learned my lesson in traffic... did it once... raced a GTO and we were doing a buck 30 or so... and I was at least 4-5 cars on him and started downshifting... and breaking. He did the last minute attempt to pass me when there is cars stacking up in front of us.... he hit his brakes very hard at 130 or so and his car started swerving back and forth at that speed... I ended up jumping over 4 lanes to give him some room and he ended up spinning out at 130 or so and went sideways on the freeway... he ended up right in the middle of the freeway and cars were swerving everywhere to miss him... luckily no one ever hit him so I got out of there. But I would have never forgived myself if someone else got hurt because of it... so try my best to just not do it in traffic.

For anyone that hasnt raced at those speeds....and have stock braking systems.... dont slam on your brakes at those speeds! Your rotors and brakes get to hot and you will have the pedal to the floor board... car cant stop... downshift and slowly start breaking

why did you shift into 6th? Ive had mine to 155 in fifth and was no where close to redline, from what i hear our cars dont even top out in 6th? And neither of those cars should have "held" at 140, mine accelerates just fine at that speed. Not calling BS on you, just saying doesnt sound right especially if your car has more power than mine and i take it to 140-150 pretty regularly without the car holding 140 or being in 6th gear. And C6 would not have just held at 150, i used to sell those cars and the LS2 version tops out at about 180-185.

It was a regular C6....White is not availible on the ZO6. Monterey red is'nt either.....Allthough I'm hearing GM is going to release some Arctic White ZO6's in a very limited number soon...

If you read my post it says the last I looked at my speedo it was at 140, we ran a little bit more after that and just held it, none of us were budging.

If he wanted to he could have. I know my C6 pulls hard up to 160mph......and I would'nt think your F-body could do 180+.

M6 TA, full exhaust (longtubes),slp lm1, ory, slp lid w/k&n, heads, cams, timing chain, nitto 555's, and 75 shot.

I know not all motor... go ahead with it I think with the mods I am about 400 hp, with the spray around 475, I need a really good tune though, sure my numbers are a little lower until I get it tuned

99% of the time I agree.....but in this case it's an interstate with NO cars so the factor of getting killed or putting another motorist in harms way is diminished......


But wait...something is fishy here.....I read he's on an interstate,then all of the sudden they approach an INTERSECTION...What gives......?

Interstates are defined as freeways with COMPLETE on and offramps with NO crossroads/intersections .....Did this really happen my friend? I'm leaning on calling
