285hp/325tq LT1 [Stock rating]
Automatic
2.73 rear gears
275/40/17 Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval's
Moroso CAI, Borla cat-back, 1LE elbow, air foil, TB by-pass, SLP 1 3/4" mid-lenght headers, RandomTech dual-cat high-flow y-pipe, computer tune, tubular lower rear control arms with poly bushings, tubular rear panhard bar with poly bushings, subframe connectors, Bilstein shocks, WS6 springs. No t-tops, no leather seats, no monsoon.

94 Eclipse GSX
195hp/205tq [Stock rating[
5-Speed
205/55/16 [Not sure what kind of tires, most likely all-weather]
K&N filter, Apexi cat-back, high-flow downpipe with no cat, free mods, boost upped to 15psi

Well not sure what the Formula would run with those mods but the Eclipse if driven well could be in the low 13's. Id put my money on the Formula.

From a stop, the GSX will have the TA if both are on street tires. From a roll, I give the edge to the TA.

doesn't 15 psi seem like alot for a mostly stock 94' gsx?

It is but ive seen people boost up to about 17 or so on the stock turbo...

so the 15 second gsx is gonna run mid 13's with a couple more psi of boost and exhaust on stock turbo? doubtful,race him and find out

If he's not scared to blow his car into pieces,he can launch that eclipse at 6,000 rpm's,dump the clutch,and leave like a rocket.I say the eclipse will have you for the 1/8th mile,but you'll catch him before the 1320's over.
I had a 1st gen awd talon,and mine was a high 12 second car,but with more money in it then his,BY FAR.

My stock LT1 got pulled on by a 14B talon.......It had a full exhaust, and some more boost but thats it....

Be carful with 1G awds, you never know what your getting your self into with them...

15PSI is safe on a almost totaly stock car. I DD'd that way for over a year. Stock is 11. The compression on the 1Gs is only 7.8:1, so they can run plenty of boost safely without a razor sharp tune. The stock fuel system can handle that fine.

With full exsaust,a KN, and 15PSI theoretically he's making another 30Hp or so. He is lighter and has better gearing and traction, though the mods on the TA mean the TA has a pretty nice hole shot too.

In the 1/4, I would want to know DA and track condition. Anyway you cut it its a good race assuming both cars are running well. Thats a big assumption with decade old plus cars.

Personally I would put a small bet on the TA.

It's possible.

I've seen them run high 12's with just those mods and an upper intercooler pipe.

With that being said, I think the Formula will win

Yea there's no doubt about it, as long as the motor isn't beat to **** it can easily be a 13 second car with those mods.
But I don't think the dsm will win on 15psi. It would be a much better race on 17-18psi.

i say the gsx runs either a high 13 or low 14. i think you have the edge. get it one video. and get some d/r's

I ran a gen1 talon with exhaust, mbc at 17psi (so he said) and we were dead even with pulls but you could see with each shift my car pulled 3/4 of a car on him (slow shifter I guess). My car run a 12.4 So yeah I could see a 15psi Talon running low 13's.

My FWD Laser ran high 15's bone stock. With just full 2.5 inch exhaust and 16 PSI I would easily run 14.2-14.0 all night at about 100 MPH. This was with shitty FWD 60ft times inthe 2.2 range. With AWD and 1.8 60ft it would be an easy 13 second car.

From a dig it will go to the DSM but it will get pulled on slightly at the top end.

From a roll I give it to the TA.

Uh oh I just read you have a 2.73 gear....


If anything try and get him to go from roll at decent speeds.....Topend will be you advantage..

topend will NOT be his advantage.. In my Z28 I switched from 3.73's to 2.73's when I changed my Rearend before I dropped the 4.10's in there and MAN it sucked ALL AROUND... I used to pull cars on the hwy, stock/slight modded GT's and the like and they would walk me at 80+ like they did from a dig when I ranthem with those horrible gears... fairytale that "hwy" gears help, in anything less than a 600+HP car they are a hinderence..

I never trust those DSM cars, seen them pull into the lot, line up and run 10's as many times as line up and run 15's.. it sounds like it would be a close race if traction is not a problem for the TA?

GSX will win for sure, and if you say he loses you better have video proof. LT1<ball sweat. And I thought there was a " no what if posts " allowed.
