I know it might sound like a dumb question, being that this is an ls1 website, but im just looking for an honest opinion. I will always be a GM fan but i myself admit that there are other fast cars as well. My cousin sold his 99 ws6 with 67k miles and it had some mods (mid-low 12sec car). He decided to sell his car becuase some guy out of nowhere offerered him $14K. He took it and he found a clean clean 97 dohc cobra (305hp stock) that has a vortech s/c aftercooled system. It has about 60K miles and he got it for $11K. Now he has $3k to invest into it. I think the car might be a little slower than his ws6, but im not sure. What do you guys think of those cars and his deal???

Sounds like a good deal since it only has 60k on the clock for a 97. Hopefully the previous owner didnt beat on it too much with that blower. 3k can do a lot for Cobras/F-bodies/etc. obviously...

Nah, the owner of the car, who is the original owner, is some old persian man who seems to love to invest in his cars being that he has about 9 cars (viper being his best). He lives in Luguna Beach,Ca which is a very wealthy place. So i took his word when he said he never abused it.

it was a wise move, id invest the 3k into building the engine since most of the work upstairs has been handled...then crank up the boost!

depending on the WS6's mods and the condition of the motor in the cobra there is no way the LS1 should be faster, if the cobra was put together right it should be putting close to 400-420 to the wheels....

Nice, build a motor for boost since you already have the setup. With 3 grand and selling a 'Cobra' motor, you could build one up nice

I'd say it's a good deal. Not a bad price for a s/c Cobra at all. I see lots of 'em goin for more than that. They're probably more powerful and have more stuff done to them but still it's a good deal.

Its a toss up honestly...both cars are badass and you can go wrong either way IMO. Badass car he had and badass car he has now.
